It seems like “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)” needs to be updated.
Over the weekend, the long, strange trip that is Lindsay Lohan’s life lately took another turn. Her father, Michael Lohan, who I think we can safely say is not in the running for Father of the Year, attempted to stage an intervention for Lindsay and get her a court-appointed conservatorship (like Britney Spears has). TMZ reports that Michael says Lindsay is a “substance abuser … who is hanging with the wrong group of people, including [mom] Dina Lohan.” Michael said he himself does not want to be the conservator.
In a follow-up report, TMZ claims that Lindsay’s siblings say this intervention is just a publicity stunt on the part of Michael – which wouldn’t be the first time. Lindsay’s brother Cody told TMZ, “ [I] have no good memories of my so-called father. He has never been part of my life; he needs to leave my family alone.”
The intervention was attempted this past weekend, but when Michael showed up at Lindsay’s house, she called the cops. TMZ reports that Lohan’s professional team was involved as well, but Lohan’s rep told EW this is untrue. “It’s apparent Michael continues to be very focused on getting publicity for himself,” Lindsay’s publicist said to EW. “Lindsay’s team is in no way aligned with him or his actions.”
I guess on the bright side, there is no way Barbara Walters is going to run out of things to ask her about when the actress sits down with her later this month.
