Update: Annie’s recap is live.
The All-Stars premiere has finally arrived! I sure hope Tom’s shiny new coveted rubberband-ball Emmy is placed alongside the COVETED MIRRORBALL TROPHY, and that the C.M.T. is bigger than usual. It’s a bigger season, that’s all!
Welcome back, DANCMSTRs! You know the drill: Discuss the show here during the live telecast — and nominate your Hidden Gems of the Week in the comments before 2 p.m. ET Tuesday. I’ll be joining the DWTS After-Party on ABC.com at 10, so tune in for that too! My first full recap will be up Tuesday morning.
Get a glimpse of what’s in store on tonight’s Dancing With the Stars premiere right now! Last week I visited Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff, Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough, Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel, and Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson in the glamorous shared rehearsal space I like to call “The House of Flying Swaggers (and Disco Ball Dreams).” It’s just as magical, and purple, as I’d thought.
You can see a snippet of each couple’s first dance — and hear their anticipation of the daunting All-Star season — below:
I'll have more from the cast as well as a guided tour of the space from leprechaun correspondent Tristan MacManus in the next few weeks!
Tonight: Be sure to check out the Dancing With the Stars After Party on ABC.com, where I'll be an "expert panelist" (HELLO, no need for those air quotes!) alongside hosts Joanna Krupa and Marc Istook and all-star insider Kyle Massey on occasion. After Party will be live on ABC.com, YouTube, and Facebook at 10 p.m. ET following each Monday night telecast. Tonight's first episode features a special acoustic performance by Lacey Schwimmer and answers to fans' questions (use the hashtag: #askDWTS).
