He knows what makes you beautiful — but he won’t tell you via social media.
That’s right: Zayn Malik of One Direction has deleted his Twitter account.
Malik joins an illustrious club that includes Miley Cyrus (who returned to follow Charlie Sheen and tweet photos of her new ‘do), Amanda Bynes (who returned to ask Barack Obama for help), Alec Baldwin (a two-time quitter), and John Mayer (who has, somehow, stayed off the site for real).
What could drive a beautiful English rose like Zayn Malik away from the virtual arms of his fan legion? ‘Twas the haters: “The reason i don’t tweet as much as i use to, is because I’m sick of all the useless opinions and hate that I get daily,” the One Direction cutie revealed Tuesday before deactivating his account, adding, “goodbye twitter :).” A glooming peace this morning with it brings; the sun, for sorrow, will not show his head.
Those who wish to beg Malik to reconsider are welcome to butter up, cajole, entice, inveigle, sweet-talk, urge, and wheedle @onedirection, the band’s official account. The rest of us will sit alone with the shades drawn and the lights off, watching Malik frolic on the beach over and over again. It was a simpler time. It was beautiful then.
