Sylvester Stallone opened up about the death of his son, Sage, in an interview on Good Morning America this morning.

Sitting for a pre-taped chat along with The Expendables 2 co-stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren, a somber-looking Stallone acknowledged that the past month has been hard. “It’s tough. It’s very tough … it’s a horrible situation,” Stallone shared.

He followed that up by saying, “Time, hopefully, will heal, and you try to get through it, but it’s… a reality of life. I think it’s important to get back and start reliving your life. Otherwise, you can go into a spiral.”

Readers can check out the full interview, where Stallone and others also chat about who the strongest of them all is, over at GMA’s website.

Sage, who appeared in Rocky V,  passed away last month at age 36. Stallone previously released a statement saying, “When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain…This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives.” The cause of death is still unknown.
