Hugh Jackman, Bernadette Peters and the Actors’ Equity Association will all be honored at the 2012 Tony Awards, according to an announcement today by the American Theatre Wing and the Broadway League.

Jackman and the AEA will both be the recipients of Special Tony Awards — the former for his contributions to the Broadway community, and the latter for its 100th anniversary in June.

Peters will receive the Isabelle Stevenson Award — created in 2009 to recognize individuals in the theater community who have contributed to charity or other humanitarian or social causes — for her work with animal program Broadway Barks!, which she cofounded with Mary Tyler Moore in 1999. The program, which raises awareness for shelter animals in need of adoption, has become something of a staple in the theater world, with dozens of stars showing up each year at Shubert Alley with their own personal puppies in tow.

All three honorees will receive their respective distinctions at the Tony Awards ceremony on Sunday, June 10 (nominations for which will be announced early tomorrow morning).
