Yeah, that was a little announcement today about the “new iPad” today, but Apple CEO Tim Cook prepped the salivating crowd with a few more tidbits, and we have them for you!
Cook announced that iCloud will now support movies in addition to music and TV shows, and users can re-download movies from the iTunes store in 1080p HD at no additional cost. Also, the Genius app is coming to movies.
Cook announced that there are 585,000 apps currently on the market (200,000 for iPad). The company recently crossed a landmark, seeing its 25 billionth app downloaded by a user in China. Okay, there was one more iPad-related announcement: The company sold nearly 15.5 million iPads in its last quarter alone. Said Cook, that’s more than any competing company’s entire range of PCs.
Cook also preview new Apple stores have in New York’s Grand Central Station and Amsterdam — the company’s largest store to date.
