Blur is set to headline the Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in London’s Hyde Park on Aug. 12. The concert, with a “Best of British” lineup that also includes The Specials and New Order, will be the final celebration organized by the city around the Games. Tickets go on sale this Friday, and concertgoers will be able to watch highlights of the day’s Closing Ceremony at Olympic Stadium on massive screens, which will fill the park from July 27 through Aug. 12. (Hyde Park will also be the site of the Opening Ceremony Celebration Concert on July 27; acts have not yet been announced. I nominate Duran Duran.)
Are you starting to catch Olympic Fever? Hearing “Bugler’s Dream” in a promo for NBC’s upcoming coverage of the Games whenever I watch an NBC show OnDemand is getting me excited, as is the prospect of continuing PopWatch’s tradition of naming a daily Olympic Stud of the Day.
NBC keeps the Olympics until 2020
