'Supernatural' midseason finale react: Was this Bobby Singer's finest hour?

supernatural

Last week’s Supernatural left the fate of Bobby Singer unknown, after he was shot in the head by Dick Roman, head of the Leviathans. At the end of this week’s episode…well, not much had changed. Bobby’s fate still hangs in the balance as we break for the winter hiatus, but following an hour of surfing through the brain of Bobby, one thing has changed: I love him even more than before. [Don't read on if you haven't watched this week's episode!] READ FULL STORY »

'The X Factor': Name your Top 5 Power List!

If that’s even possible!

Last night’s results show saw Astro and, unexpectedly, Drew disintegrate into the smoky red X Factor-y ether forever. We’re now left with a rather lackluster Top 5: Marcus Canty, Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene, Rachel Crow, and Melanie Amaro (pictured…is Marcus pretending Drew and Astro are still there? Sad!)

Out of all these kids (except for 31-year-old Josh who is TERRIBLY OLD), I can only see Josh or Melanie winning the $5 million recording contract and the chance to romp around in the digital playland of a Pepsi commercial during the Superbowl. But what do I know? The charming but melodically challenged Chris could be leading in votes every week. Cheese wedge Marcus and figment of Simon Cowell’s imagination Rachel Crow are kind of amusing with their over-produced showmanship. READ FULL STORY »

Five videos to remind you Michael Fassbender is sexy (because 'Shame' sure isn't)

shame-michael-fassbender-2

Shame, the new film starring Michael Fassbender as a sex addict, obviously has a lot of sex and full-frontal nudity in it. You know the Steve McQueen movie is a heavy one going in — it’s rated NC-17. But if you’re a fan of Fassbender who finds him attractive enough to rent (and fast-forward through) his 2007 film Angel costarring the female lead of Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights – or just someone who saw the Shame red-band trailer and wished you were that woman he’s staring at on the subway — you’re probably thinking this film will be, on some level, sexy because he is.

The surprise is that it’s not, and neither is his character. There’s one scene that makes you think, okay, this is a guy I could like, and wow, I’m actually smiling, but that’s not what you’ll be thinking when the movie ends. Odds are, you’ll feel as hollow as his character, which is the intention, and, perhaps, disappointed — not in the quality of the film, but in how it, for the immediate future, makes it difficult to think of Fassbender as sexy. (Did I really need to watch him pee?) You’ll have discussions with friends about how part of you really wants to see him play a sexual leading man who is allowed to be healthy – not blinded and maimed in Jane Eyre, or maimed and suicidal in Angel, or in a love triangle with a woman and her 15-year-old daughter in Fish Tank. You want to swoon over him, and yet, you wouldn’t want him to sell out and star in like, The Backup Plan 2 with Jennifer Lopez. There has to be happy medium, and hopefully, some screenwriter in Hollywood is penning it as we speak. In the meantime, if you’ve seen Shame and need to bring the sexy Fassbender back, watch the interview clips below. It worked for me.

What the…? She’s so much prettier.

As if the presidential primary season wasn’t already playing out like a crappy reality show, Celebrity Apprentice TV star, wig model — and let’s not forget former presidential hopeful — Donald Trump will moderate a Republican debate in Des Moines on Dec. 27. Trump, whom President Obama has likened to a “carnival barker,” is pairing up with Newsmax to put on the debate, which will air on Ion TV.

No word yet on which candidates will accept this once-in-a-lifetime offer — or whether Trump secretly plans on firing them all instead.

I’m serious about Ivanka though.

In fact: POLL! READ FULL STORY »

Somewhere, Al Yankovic is sweating.

Talk show host and parody extraordinaire Jimmy Fallon has reportedly signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records to release a comedy album in 2012. The album will include music and parodies featured on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

You probably don’t need reminding, but the former SNL skit-ster has consistently shown the world — via his Late Night stage how to put a good spoof together. Recently, he wasted no time re-interpreting Justin Bieber’s “Baby” and looking back we have Fallon to thank for the Neil Young-inspired “Pants on the Ground” and the greatest rendition of Rebecca Black’s “Friday” the world has ever known. Not to mention this his pitch-perfect opening number as host of the 2010 Emmy Awards. READ FULL STORY »

Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry Barbies to be auctioned for charity: Which celebs should get the doll treatment?

Seeing as Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry have already technically modeled their entire makeup, hair, and wardrobe after Barbie (though, in all fairness, Barbie has never had to worry about a nip slip), it seemed only fitting that Mattel would transform the singers into their iconic dolls.

And they can be all yours for the low, low starting bid price of… $1,000.  Starting on Friday, CharityBuzz.com began to auction off the dolls, including Minaj’s plastic likeness named, perfectly enough, Minajesty Barbie, which boasts that the 11-½ inch replica of the colorful “Super Bass” singer has every part of her down pat, from her pink hair (jeez, bangs are everywhere today), right down to the tattoo she has on her left arm. Buffy‘s kid sister as Bella? That’s what Michelle Trachtenberg claimed nearly happened. OWS celebrity support score card: Adam Carolla joins the haters, Tom Morello rallies on for the cause

Those involved with the Occupy Wall Street movement may not have 100 percent support for their rally cry against the 1 percent, but when it comes to support from Hollywood, the odds are still (mostly) in their favor.

In the three months since the start of OWS, any increasing amount of celebrities have taken the side of the grassroots political movement. Whether they’ve visited an actual Occupy site, performed (like Tom Morello did, both in New York City and Los Angeles), marched alongside the protesters, or simply just tweeted their support, plenty members of Hollywood has opted to take a stand with them.

Of course, as is the case with any political movement, where there’s support, there’s an opposition. READ FULL STORY »

'The Waltons' on 'Today': 'We were dealing with some real issues,' says Ma

Our national obsession with oversized TV families isn’t a recent reality-show phenomenon. Forty years ago, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, and The Waltons were each prime-time hits, and eight members of the cast from the latter visited with Matt Lauer this morning on Today. For youngins who scrunched their nose when Today ran video clips of the show, which ran for nine seasons beginning in 1971, The Waltons was an extremely earnest drama about a western Virginian family struggling through the Great Depression and World War II. Is it dated? “It was dated when we did it!” interjected one of the cast, which included Kami Cotler (who played Elizabeth), Jon Walmsley (Jason), David Harper (Jim Bob), Eric Scott (Ben), Michael Learned (Olivia, a.k.a. Ma), Richard Thomas (John-Boy), Judy Norton (Mary Ellen), and Mary Elizabeth McDonough (Erin). Watch the clip below: READ FULL STORY »

Russell Brand shoots down break-up rumors, talks kids on 'Ellen'

Filed under: Music, News, Television, TV and tagged: , ,

Russell Brand dropped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. In his interview, the funnyman addressed rumors that he and wife Katy Perry are on the verge of divorce. “There are always rumors, aren’t there? In the end you have to just not engage with Internet technology,” he said, then joked, “which is difficult because a lot of the nude women websites I quite enjoy!”

Brand called the Internet “a wicked little liar” and added that “being famous is like a little bit of you is taken away, and goes off, and lives on its own and does what it wants.” Still, he insisted, “I’m married to Katy perpetually. ‘Until death do us part‘ was the pledge. I’m still alive!” Brand also talked about having kids in the interview. See his take on the possibility of little Brand-Perry babies after the jump.
