After Bones‘ May finale in which we found out Brennan was pregnant with Booth’s child, exec producer Stephen Nathan joked to EW, “A lot of viewers always make up their mind on how we’re gonna ruin the show before it happens. And hopefully we will disappoint those viewers.” Did they ruin the show? If you haven’t seen tonight’s season 7 premiere, stop reading now. SPOILERS AHEAD!  READ FULL STORY »

'Funny Girl' revival postponed on Broadway and in Los Angeles

Filed under: News and tagged: ,

Broadway babes are weeping into their Playbills: The revival of Funny Girl – which was scheduled to hit Broadway this spring after a stint in Los Angeles — has been postponed, the producers announced today.

“We have made the extremely difficult decision today to postpone our production of Funny Girl,” said producer Bob Boyett in a statement. “Given the current economic climate, many Broadway producing investors have found it impossible to maintain their standard level of financial commitment. Our desire to produce Funny Girl on the scale it deserves required a capitalization of $12 million making it one of the most expensive revivals in Broadway history.”  READ FULL STORY »

The Kim Kardashian divorce: How could she do this to 'us'?

There’s more than a touch of irony — and hypocrisy — to the public’s angry reaction to Kim Kardashian’s announcement that she is divorcing Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage. Many fans felt duped — Was the dream wedding a sham, a ploy to boost ratings for the Kardashians’ E! reality show? “My wife is invested in this show,” Fox & Friends’ Eric Bolling told Kris Jenner this morning. “She falls in love with your family. She gets involved. When the wedding broke up after 72 days, she was, like, devastated, because people — they watch and they want to believe in you.”

People are actually upset — not because Kardashian is doing this to Humphries, but because she’s doing it to us. READ FULL STORY »

Can CNN score morning magic with Soledad O'Brien and a new panel program?

Can CNN reinvent its morning line-up? It looks like that’s what the cable news net is hoping, and execs have tapped Soledad O’Brien to lead the charge. They’ve invited O’Brien back to the sunrise shift as moderator of a conversational morning news show that will air from 7 to 9 a.m. weekdays. It’s an interesting move for an otherwise traditional network. Certainly panel shows are blowing up right now, but they’ve only been met with mixed reception. For every The Five, there’s also The Chew. And none of the shows on the air right now begins as early as O’Brien’s new vehicle will. Do people want that much talk first thing in the morning, or do they want their news straight-no-chaser like a bitter but necessary shot of wheatgrass? READ FULL STORY »

According to a release from producers, The Anarchist centers on “politics, money, religion, and sex.” And, presumably, plenty of foul language.

Taylor Lautner signs up for Gus Van Sant flick: Could indie be the way to go for him?

Taylor Lautner was cemented – quite literally — as a bona fide Hollywood star today. But when people look down at his hand print at Grauman’s, will it say “Taylor Lautner,” but forever read “Jacob From Twilight. You Know, The Kid With The Crazy Abs“?

While his turn in the recent double identity action caper — and box office flop — Abduction might suggest just that, it’s unfair to count Lautner out as a one-trick werewolf pony yet. While Lautner will be heading into familiar territory with the big screen adaptation of the YA novel Incarceron, as we EW reported last night, he’ll enter the next phase of his career by working with indie darling director Gus Van Sant. (Hey, he helped start Matt Damon’s career! And Smith Jerrod’s!)

So can you envision him as a dramatic actor in an indie? READ FULL STORY »

Kris Jenner thinks Kris Humphries would be an 'Indian giver' if he took the ring back

If you can’t stand the idea of watching another Kardashian being interviewed about Kim’s divorce or simply the use of the unforgivable, made-up word “momager,” then by all means look away. (In fact, look at this instead. Happy place!) But, if you can’t help but be fascinated by the Kardashian saving-perpetually-stunned-face media blitz, check out Kris Jenner‘s visit to Good Morning America on Thursday.

In what is nothing more than a krazy koincidence (let’s give the Kardashians some credit, they have made intentional misspellings much more fun), Jenner was promoting her new book Kris Jenner… And All Things Kardashian when the topic of her daughter’s divorce came up. “Wow… I couldn’t have been hit with anything more shocking,” Jenner told GMA correspondent Lara Spencer, in regards to learning the news about Kim. For anyone who visits the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, it is a time-honored tradition to place your hands and feet in the cement handprints and footprints left there by Hollywood’s biggest luminaries — from Douglas Fairbanks to Bette Davis, Julie Andrews to Johnny Depp — and exclaim, “Oh my gawd, they’re so small!

To that storied list of stars we can add The Twilight Saga‘s Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, who will celebrate the release of Breaking Dawn — Part 1 today by pressing their hands and feet into wet cement. And you can watch them do it, live, in the video below, starting around 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET. (And no, Jacob won’t be leaving any paw prints, so don’t ask.)  READ FULL STORY »
