Damian McGinty's 'Glee' debut: So how'd he do?

It may not be easy being green Rory Flanagan, but The Glee Project winner Damian McGinty’s big debut on Glee last night felt effortless. McKinley High hasn’t always been kind to its new students (Rory certainly learned that the hard way), and Glee doesn’t always know what to do with its newbies, (Chord Overstreet’s Sam has already been through the revolving door, though he’ll be back later this season) but McGinty seems like he could be a lifer. Well, at least until he has to graduate high school.

Between his rapport/blossoming romance with Heather Morris’ Brittany (and, as Abby West pointed out in her Glee recap, his rapport/blossoming bromance with Cory Monteith’s Finn) and his fitting performance of Kermit the Frog’s “It’s Not Easy Being Green,” McGinty felt like the breath of fresh air that the show has been needing for quite some time. There’s a reason why he won The Glee Project, after all.

But, I’m curious to know what you thought of Damian McGinty’s long-awaited arrival on Glee in last night’s episode “Pot O’ Gold,” PopWatchers. Do you think he fit into the judgmental halls of McKinley? Or is he going to come and go quicker than Charice’s Sunshine Corazon? Did his character Rory remind you a little bit of Lisa’s crush Colin from The Simpsons Movie, too? (Although Rory would never protest, “It’s not Bono!” as he still has an affinity for U2.) Are you hoping Glee will keep him for a while? Vote below!
