The currently-in-cinemas Thing prequel received a lukewarm reception from critics, including our own Lisa Schwarzbaum. But how would the characters from John Carpenter’s 1982 movie react to being shown this new franchise entry?

That question has been answered in the NSFW fan clip below which finds Mac, Palmer, Blair, and the rest watching the adventures of Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s scientist and those crazy Swedes. Sorry, Norwegians.

Check it out and tell us what you think. READ FULL STORY »

Kelsey Grammer thinks Camille married Frasier, tears up talking about new wife

Kelsey Grammer’s sitdown with Piers Morgan aired last night, and, of course, Morgan got him to open up about his very public divorce with his third wife, Camille. Did she marry Grammer because he was a TV star, he asked? “I think she married me because I was Frasier,” Grammer laughed. “I think it was Frasier. You know, he had this great wonderful life … he was stylish … and fabulous, you know, just a little gay … and he was famous. Kelsey Grammer was a different story. You got home and Kelsey Grammer was somebody different.” Asked which of Camille’s comments have hurt him most, Grammer thought of two. ”She once said that I didn’t want my daughter… that pissed me off,” he offered first. (Morgan put that into context as only he could: “You’ve been a fairly hopeless husband from time to time with the various wives, and then some of them have been pretty useless wives, but you’ve throughout been a very contentious, loving father, so that kind of thing must really hurt you.”) The statement that stung both him and his fourth wife, Kayte Walsh, even more was “that thing about the child we lost … something about it being karma … it’s just disgusting,” Grammer said.  READ FULL STORY »

Last night, House saw the exit of yet another female character this season when Thirteen was fired from House’s team. But that sounds much harsher than it actually was. In fact, it was sort of sweet. READ FULL STORY »

We at EW scoured the TV line-up last night to find the best quotable lines from your favorite shows. Between Dancing With the Stars‘ always quotable Bruno Tonioli, the catty Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Two and a Half Men‘s nebbishy straight man, Alan Harper, and the dino-mite dialogue of Terra Nova, the competition was stiff. Who emerged victorious?

Harry Belafonte meditating, not sleeping, during morning interview, says rep

Between penning his memoir My Song, serving as the subject for the documentary Sing Your Song, and speaking out for Occupy Wall Street, sometimes a man just needs to sleep. Harry Belafonte was scheduled to appear via satellite on a Bakersfield, Calif., morning news program Friday, but the 84-year-old “King of Calypso” dozed off before the interview even began. Seeing that Belafonte was out for the count, the anchor explained that he was “taking a little nap.” Update: Belafonte’s rep Ken Sunshine has issued a statement that the singer was meditating and couldn’t hear the anchor’s prompt due to a “technical glitch” with his earpiece. See the full statement after the jump.

Bill Clinton one-ups Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, and best of all, Sean Penn, in new FunnyOrDie video

When watching a group of smart, socially-minded A-list celebrities try — and fail — to come up with new ideas for the Clinton Foundation in the new FunnyOrDie video, you almost can’t believe how hilariously self-aware each one of them is. There’s Bridesmaids star Kristen Wiig, who put her creative mind back to work by coming up with a stop-breathing-for-one-minute-a-day initiative. There’s the still bald, still bad-ass Matt Damon championing a Clinton Foundation softball team, the Clinton Clobbers (whose mascot would be a cheetah, “the fastest animal on land.”) Then, of course, there’s the most politically-charged one of them all, Sean Penn. But the Oscar-winner wasn’t there to rally for one of his many causes. No, he’d simply like for everyone to stop stealing his lunch. (He labels his food for a reason!)

Of course, as funny as the stars are in the clip, which also includes turns by Ben Stiller, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Kevin Spacey, and Jack Black, they all get one-upped by the man himself, former President Bill Clinton.

Watch the full clip, which debuted over the weekend during a 10th anniversary concert for the Clinton Foundation at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, and is potentially the single greatest argument of why Hollywood and politics should mix, below: READ FULL STORY »

'Castle' react: See, Caskett fans, that wasn't so bad...

Castle-kiss

You gotta love Castle fans.

Several weeks ago, producers sent out a casting announcement for a woman to play an insurance investigator who would get close with Castle. Very close.

Cue fan mayhem — and understandably so. After years of investing in one of TV’s greatest couples, were fans going to be betrayed? Was some strumpet going to come and steal Castle’s heart, which we all know belongs to one woman and one woman only?! Of course not! But it was sort of fun to watch the fandom meltdown that followed the casting call. (And, full disclosure: I had a brief, nonsensical “HELL TO THE NO” moment myself.)

Now that the episode has aired, we can breathe again. It’s nice, right? And, as usual, we got worked up over nothing because there was a lovely twist to the story that made everything — even the kiss — not so bad. Whew!

In case you didn’t watch, here’s what went down: READ FULL STORY »

How-Met-Mother

Happy news on How I Met Your Mother — and I’m not talking about the news that Kal Penn finally seems to be finding his rhythm on the show. (But I’ll get to that in a minute.)

Nope, the big news on the latest episode of Mother is that we now know Lily will soon be giving birth to a….  READ FULL STORY »
