Looks like we weren’t the only ones to have the update of Footloose knock our socks (and Sunday shoes) off: Kevin Bacon, the original dancing rebel Ren MacCormack, tweeted his own approval of the remake. Bacon posted a picture of his ticket stub and wrote from his Twitter page, “F-Loose! Just saw it. Congrats to Craig, Kenny, Julianne, Dennis,Andie, Miles, and the rest of the cast. U guys roc…”
It’s hard to decide who’s freaking out over this more right now: Kenny Wormald (and the rest of the cast and crew, for that matter) who now knows that he has Bacon’s blessing (Mmmm, bacon blessings) for taking over the part and doing it justice, or the people that were at the AMC Loews Boston Common 19 on Sunday for the 12:10 showing and now realize they were one degree — and possibly one seat away — from Kevin Bacon. Either way, because of the fact that he was gracious enough to pass on the Footloose torch and goes to the movies just like the rest of us, we’ll let it slide that Bacon was four minutes late to the showing. (Doesn’t he know the trailers are the best part?!)

The big question is will he approve of a remake of the 80s bicylce messenger classic “Quicksilver” he starred in. I know I’m on pins and needles
and then the remake of She’s Having a Baby…it was on tv this weekend…some real funny in that movie and a reallllly young Alec Baldwin!

not sure if Emmitt was being sarcastic, but Modine is not in Quicksilver or She’s Having a Baby. He rides a bike in Vision Quest, but not every movie featuring a bicycle is Quicksilver. Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe he just actually likes it. I’ve seen it and it’s actually pretty good. He didn’t have to tweet about it or even spend his money on it but he did, I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have unecessarily praised it just to be nice.

Why come to a site where all the writers are “idiots?” It makes you look like more of an idiot. Get over yourself. The writers do their best and give their OPINIONS, which is the whole point of this site, to review things. I happen to agree with their review of Footloose for the most part, as do a boatload of other critics and movie goers.
Wow it has been a whole two days since an article was posted about “Footloose”..hmm sure the articles about Darren Criss, Glee, Ryan Gosling, Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, and Laddy Ga Ga are coming soon, because after all that is all there is in this world right EW?

They did the bridge scene in my town but they were smart and did it on a Friday Night when the whole town was distracted by a home High School Football game. When the game let out they were already finished.

Took my 8year old to see it last week at Mall of America. Was really surprised but it was damn good. And THIS kid did all of his own dancing -unlike Kevin.
Too bad he couldn’t get Kevin Bacon to do his acting. Oh, and Kevin can hold his own on the dance floor. But ya know, something tells me the starrer of this retread won’t be thought of in 30-years. Pretty sure no ones gonna care to remake one of his movies.
Oh, and thanks for the “Mall of America” reference. It really puts things in perspective.
