With a little over a year until the 2012 Presidential election, the race is already heating up. (In fact, according to Herman Cain’s calculations, it’s about as hot as a pizza oven.) Still, no matter what your political affiliation or how you plan to vote next November, you’ve gotta admit, this latest bit of information could probably help (or hurt) President Barack Obama‘s chances for re-election.
During an interview with People.com, First Lady Michelle Obama discussed, among other things, the TV watching habits and rules for daughters Sasha and Malia. When asked if any programs were off-limits, the the First Lady revealed that the president isn’t so fond of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. (But how, in this struggling economy could he not, at least, appreciate Kim Kardashian’s modest wedding?)
But Kim will be able to rest as easy as her $325 nude black resting statue by Lalique (that is, if someone got it for her off her registry) knowing that the whole Obama clan doesn’t feel that way about them. In fact, the First Lady is okay with the girls watching their reality show, so long as it opens up a dialogue. “I sort of feel like if we’re talking about it, and I’m more concerned with how they take it in: What did you learn when you watched that?” she told the website.
Seriously though, could there be a better endorsement out there than, “President Barack Obama likes The Wire, but doesn’t like Keeping Up with the Kardashians?” (Well, maybe this one.) Or are you upset that he allows the show to air in the White House in the first place?

Makes no difference to me. I vote based on the issues, not on what tv shows they watch. Seriously anyone voting based on what shows the candidates watch should not be allowed to vote, ever.

The Kardashians are Armenian icons. The Obamas should be more concerned with economic growth, reducing unemployment, health care, education, etc.
Icons? Seriously? They’re famous for their sex tapes, DUIs, and breaking up with/marrying athletes. They SUCK. Yes, they are beautiful, but that is the only thing I will give them.
Their show is filled with bad acting, implausible storylines and the truth is, none of them have a job other than hosting parties and endorsing crap products. I dont’ care that they’re on TV, but I do care that you would call them icons.

I really look up to the Kardashian sisters and they’re a great example to women around the country. They’re successful entrepreneurs, businesswomen, television personalities, radio personalities, models and actresses. I think Kim, Kourtney and Khloe are really, really sexy and I just have so much respect for them.

And she said SHE allows a little TV, Sasha and Malia watch Keeping up with whatever. But Barack doesn’t care for them or the show.

Barack Obama has some nerve. He has already let the Armenians down just like his predecessors by breaking his promise to recognise the Armenian Genocide.
Geez the President and First Lady are parents to 2 young girls of course they are going to say what their children can and can not watch if I was a parent I wouldn’t let my kids watch the Kardashians.
This really is none of our business, Bill Clintons sex life wasnt,- just like no other couples sex life is. What a couple let their children watch is between them. GOOD LORD- I have never seen such catty and shallow people. If what Barack and Michelle let their two daughters watch impacted our lives it – we could talk about it and whine about it and criticize.
My parents dont always agree with my aunts and uncles ( their sisters and brothers) BUT its rude to tell other people how to raise their own kids.

My dad doesn’t want me watching the Kardashians, and I’m 27. If I watch it for more than 2 minutes at his house he gets in a really bad mood and says it’s bad for the soul.
Explain to me again why these people are famous(the Kardashians). It’s because their dad represented a murderer. As for the President I think this rates pretty low on reasons to not be re-elected

President Obama has a particular aversion, it seems, to Keeping Up with the Kardashians. FINALLY something we agree on. This is a platform that could get him re-elected – the majority of people HATE the Kardashians and wish they would go away.
Why are they even allowed to watch it if they don’t approve of the show in the first place? Be a parent, and turn off the t.v. or (gasp!!) tell your child no.
Michelle Obama lets them watch it and discusses it with the girls. She wants them to learn a lesson from them. Maybe that lesson is “don’t act like these girls.”
What’s most upsetting is Obama actually knows who these “ladies” are. He should be busy with more important things.
