During a visit to Today this morning, E!’s Giuliana Rancic (E! News, The Fashion Police) revealed to host Ann Curry that she is currently battling breast cancer. Rancic, who has publicly chronicled her struggles with infertility with her husband Bill Rancic on their reality show Giuliana & Bill, told Curry, “Through my attempt to get pregnant for the third time through IVF, we sadly found out that I have early stages of breast cancer… It’s been a shock.”
The 37-year-old went on to talk about how her doctor recommended she get a mammogram, something she thought she wouldn’t have to do until she was 40. (“I went kicking and screaming to get a mammogram, to be honest.”) A tearful and shaky Rancic recalled how she felt when she found out the news that she had cancer (“That was the hardest day”) and urged female viewers to put themselves and their health on their “to-do list.” Watch the entire interview below, in which the E! host talks about the support she’s had from her husband and why she’s “not going to give up” on having a child.

So sad to hear! At least they caught it early. Thank goodness the doctor convinced her to get a mammogram.
Something that seems like an awful thing can turn into a blessing. Here’s to hoping Giuliana recovers quickly and welcomes another blessing in the not to distant future. Hang in there.

That’s what I was going to say too, lisa g.
umm Christine Applegate?
Yes sorry could not recall her name to save my life!
Very sad to hear this. It’s great they caught it early-big kudos to her doctor for making her get a mammogram
I’m very sorry to hear this. I hope she makes a full recovery. This is so sad. LeAnn Rimes should be ashamed of herself after lashing out at this poor woman recently with those disgusting comments on Twitter.
I must have missed this. What was that all about?
Well, Giuliana started it.
Yes. And Giuliana is hardly someone to make fun of someone for being too skinny.
Honestly she has cancer, is trying a very expensive 3rd round of IFV and she STILL can’t find a reason to gain the 5-10 pounds her doctor recommended?? That’s insane.
She said on the View that she couldn’t gain any lbs because of fashion, that the looks they pull for her are sample sizes.. Whoopi looked like she was gonna whoop some a**.
Giuilana and LeAnn met for drinks and made up, didn’t you hear? Not even a fan of LeAnn lately myself, but no need to bring her into this discussion!
I hate hearing this. I’m 34 and so paranoid about getting cancer. I wish her all the best.
If cancer is in your family, ask your gynocologist if you should have a mammogram. I found a small cyst at 32 and had mammograms every other year until I was over 40 (my mom had breast cancer) and nothing has ever developed. There are things you can do to make sure you keep one step ahead of it.
yikes, glad to hear nothing ever developed. im going for a screening this week, keeping fingers crossed and im only 32. so yeah, prevention starts early, depending on symptoms and your family history.
Talk to your doctor, especially if you have a family history on both sides of your family.
Definitely always consult with your gynocologist. Also, make sure you have a good gyno. My first gyno in LA couldn’t find the cyst until I pointed it out to her. My new gyno showed me the correct way to check for lumps with a fake boob. I guessed the wrong number of cysts on the fake boob – I said 1 and there were 5.
So glad it was caught early. Wishing her a full recovery.
x 2 Blessings of health and a quick recovery, Guiliana. xox

My dear woman,
About ten years ago, I had 4 miscarriages in 4 years. A woman your age was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. About two years later we were on a plane ( with our husbands) to bring home our 7 month old babies from China. 3 years later, did it again.
It’s been the most magical, wonderful journey. These babies were meant to be ours. When you’re ready, see if this resonates with you at all. Friends with biological kids & babies adopted as infants say – no difference. Although you’ll have some different issue to deal with – the lobe and happiness is just the best.
Best wishes to you from all of us.
Ok, that was supposed to be ” the LOVE and happiness” not the “lobe and happiness.”
Ten years later – mommy brain or senility or both?:)
This is sad news, indeed, but it’s so good that they caught it early. Prayers for strength, Giuliana. You can beat this.
My prayers go out to Giuliana for a full recovery.
Prayers to Guiliana & Bill as they go thru this trying time in their lives – wishing them the best. . . .things happen in life for a reason as you said Guiliana – beat this and next will be a healthy baby for you & your hubby! I love watching your show . . .and wish you all good things. . .Hugs to you.
Praying for her, and hoping, hoping, hoping she doesn’t play this out on the tv show. So personal, just like the preganancy struggle. This is a sad life she is livivng. Praying for her.
Maybe it would be good if this was included in the show. I think that she is already doing a service to women by bringing this up. Women should really put their own health on their priority list. Kudos also to the doctor who told her to get the mammogram.
I pray with her and her family and I’m sooo thrilled to see not ONE mean or negative comment here!
Nooooo!!! I feel so bad for them. I know firsthand how hard it is to endure fertility problems, but then to have to deal with breast cancer on top of that??? My heart goes out to them – you’ll get through this Giuliana!!
What’s interesting is that she might not have found the cancer if it weren’t for the fertility issues. As difficult as infertility has been for them, perhaps it was a life-saving blessing in disguise.
Sounds like they caught it early – so that is good.
She should really look into adopting a child. There are plenty of children out there that could use a loving home.
