After a seemingly unstoppable downward ratings spiral, Charlie’s Angels has proven it has some fight in it yet. Defying all logic, ABC’s freshman series picked up new viewers this week. As our own James Hibberd reported, the show gained a small but significant one-tenth of a point, even as TV insiders anticipated its cancellation. The jury’s still out on what caused the boost and whether Angels‘ ratings bump will affect the show’s fate, but what do you think, PopWatchers? Have you been watching Charlie’s Angels? It’s not terrible, it’s just not interesting.
I watch the show for the same reason I watch W B’s Nikita. In theory it stars excellent female rolemodels. However, Angels might not be serious or dark enough to really interest adults over 20 years old.
I agree. And I need to add that the scripts are really light and dialogue is laughable, Minka Kelly is mis-cast, and the fact that the girls are always laughing — the forced kinda laughter you do when someone directs you to do it. Why would they laugh as they try to rescue someone? No one told a joke or got a good banter going. Just badness. I could not watch it more than twice. It’s not even good/bad enough for a guilty pleasure.
Haven’t watched it. I have no interest as I guess I’m not the demographic (male). There is just too much competition on Thursday nights – Big Bang, Community, Parks and Rec, Vampire Diaries. I would even watch X-Factor before I’d watch Charlie’s Angels.
The show is terrible but I can’t take my eyes off Minka Kelly and her cute little pooper in those dresses, shorts, skirts and pants.
It’s somehow pathetic when men watch television, not to follow a great story, but to lust on the body of a female protagonist. Those who do that may be “lacking” in real life.

I cannot believe you just compared Minka Kelly to Hugh Jackman! The man is on Broadway, he’s in blockbusters movies, he hosted the Oscars. He’s got talent. Minka Kelly is just a pretty empty thing.

wow kiki calm down it sounds like you love the guy, women like to look at him or the fdny calendar do people buy the calendar just for the date. men like to look at pretty girls, out of the three yes minka kelly is the attractive one.
I actually always thought he was gay, so it’s not like I have some secret crush for him. I think he’s great at what he does, that’s all. And people make such a big deal out of this Minka person!
Rachael Taylor is really gorgeous. She’s amazing. That woman is incredible. Australian perfection doesn’t get much purer than her.

One of the worst shows of the new season. Completely unwatchable.
I tried to watch the first 5 minutes of the pilot but the dialogue was so cheese-statistic that I couldn’t get through it. The only reason I watched last night was to see Erica Durance back on TV. She was the best thing about the episode and just makes me miss Smallville even more,
I watched because there was NOTHING ELSE ON at the time. It was Charlie’s Angels or watching a cooking show, or QVC.
Jiji Must live in one of those weird places where there only 3 stations. ABC, PBS and QVC. Got 2 words for ya…cable.
Or, ya know, if there’s nothing on worth watching you can turn off the tv and do something productive…

My guess is perverse curiosity. Enough people must’ve read the bad-beyond-belief reviews and tuned in to see if it really was as bad as everyone says.
Because it was promoted as a remake of “Angels in Chains,” one of the most popular/cult classic Charlie’s Angels episdoes from the 70′s.
I watched the pilot on demand a few weeks back. It wasn’t too bad but it wasn’t so great either. I keep meaning to watch the other episodes on demand but instead I end up watching better shows.
Erica Durance
I have been watching since day 1. The girls are cute, but that is not why I watch it. I just plain like Charlie’s Angels, and always have. I especially liked Erica Durance in the Angels in Chains. Have been watching her since Smallville. As far as criticism for the three pretty girls, they are still young. Give them a break. What do you expect at this stage of the game – Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, or Kathryn Hepburn?
Minka Kelly is overrated.
