Ashton Kutcher's second 'Two and a Half Men' episode: Do we still care?
Charlie is already dead. Ashton Kutcher’s Walden Schmidt has already bought his house. Heck, we’ve already met Ashton Kutcher’s Walden Schmidt’s nether regions — in fact, a grand total of 27.7 million viewers met his nether regions. Of course, huge ratings for Two and a Half Men‘s ninth season premiere were expected — following Charlie Sheen’s firing and subsequent media implosion, curiosity drove many to tune into CBS to see what would come of Charlie Harper and his youthful replacement. But now that we’ve gotten answers — and an opportunity to snap judge Kutcher in the role as hapless and hopelessly-in-love billionaire Walden — will TV viewers continue to tune in? When it comes to Two and a Half Men‘s headline-making ninth season, do we still care? READ FULL STORY »
Are you a responsible pet-lover suffering from 'Harry Potter' withdrawal? Padfoot is now up for adoption!
Over the past few weeks, beta testers for J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore experiment have expressed a range of opinions about the interactive site. Many have complained about the slow admittance process, but the fortunate few who have seen the site have praised both its artwork and the completely immersive experience it has to offer. Keith Staskiewicz, EW’s lucky Potter-tester, said the site will “let you experience some of the fun of living in the world of Harry Potter.”
The fun of living in the world of Harry Potter, eh? Isn’t this ‘fun’ what we’ve all been chasing since our first visit to Hogwarts in 1997? Isn’t it the reason behind the valuable time I’ve spent taking Sorting Hat quizzes (Hufflepuff? I think not), and debating whether to buy a plane ticket to Orlando to sample Universal Studios’ interpretation of Butterbeer? My verdict is a definitive yes. Anyone who has read this series without experiencing the serious side effect of Hogwarts-envy is probably a Death Eater.
Well, now Potter fans (or really just responsible dog lovers) can join in on the fun by making a beloved member of the Potter family a member of their own family! READ FULL STORY »
Jonah Hill is ordinary in 'Moneyball,' and that's a very good thing

As many of you have probably noticed, the EW staff kind of has a thing for Moneyball, and its star Brad Pitt.
The movie premiered last weekend to a cozy $20.6 million, making it the best premiere ever for a movie about baseball, and got a glowing “A-” grade from EW’s Owen Gleiberman, who also posted that the movie’s smart script hearkens back to a time before America became addicted to F/X gimmickry.
It’s definitely Pitt’s show, but his in-the-face-of-tradition general manager only thinks to rock the boat after meeting Jonah Hill’s refreshingly understated statistician. Together, they set off like Batman and Robin to change the way the game is played. I loved Moneyball, I thought it was a sexy look at the business side of professional sports and days after watching, I still find myself thinking about how uncharacteristically “normal” Jonah Hill was in it. 'The Chew' series premiere: It made me hungry, but will it make you watch?
ABC’s daytime experiment, The Chew, debuted today in the time formerly occupied by longtime soap All My Children, and while it certainly made me hungry, I’m not sure I’ll be lunching with this show every day.
It’s far too easy to nitpick a show’s first hour, so I’ll avoid digging too deep into the tiny issues — like the disappointment I felt when Mario Batali decided to appear via satellite in episode 1. (But I will forgive it because it was for charity.) But having sat in the audience at a taping and seen a finished show on-air today, there is one obvious problem facing the Chew crew (admit it, that’s sort of cute): There are too many cooks in this kitchen. Boxing hobbits! Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan 'beat the s--' out of each other at Fantastic Fest -- VIDEO

A couple of weeks back, Fantastic Fest organizer Tim League spoke to us about his then upcoming debate and boxing match with bare knuckle pugilist James Quinn McDonagh, star of the Austin, Texas fest’s selection Knuckle. What League neglected to mention (the swine!) was that another of the night’s bouts would feature Lord of the Rings co-stars “Relentless” Elijah Wood and “Domineering” Dominic Monaghan.
That’s right, on Saturday, Frodo and Merry stepped in the ring to first argue the merits of World of Warcraft and then, in the words of Wood, “beat the s— out of one other.”
Ben Stiller and Anna Faris named as upcoming hosts for 'Saturday Night Live': Excited?

Time to step aside, Alec Baldwin. Some more actors will soon need to bask in the glow of getting the opportunity to host Saturday Night Live. NBC announced today that Ben Stiller and Anna Faris will host SNL on Oct. 8 and 15, respectively. It will mark the second time both stars will be headlining the show. (Stiller, who was a cast member for just a few episodes back in 1989, hasn’t graced Studio 8H as a host since 1998, while Faris gave it a go back in 2008.)
So what can we expect — or at least hope to expect — from the funny stars? READ FULL STORY »
