Emma Stone, Bill Hader, and Ken Jeong stand up to cancer... with The Force -- EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS

Emma-Stone-Bill-Hader

Star Wars and Stand Up To Cancer — a.k.a. SU2C, the initiative founded in 2008 to help fund cutting-edge cancer research — have teamed up to create a special line of Star Wars-themed SU2C t-shirts called “Use the Force for Good.” And to commemorate the occasion, several celebs, including Emma Stone (Crazy, Stupid, Love.), Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live), and Ken Jeong (The Hangover Part II, Community), have banded together to share their love of the Star Wars universe. (It doesn’t hurt that the Blu-ray editions of the six Star Wars films hit stores this Friday.)

You can check out more of EW’s exclusive shots from Stone and Jeong’s involvement in the promotion below:  READ FULL STORY »

Your PSA of the day, brought to you by Hitler

I’ve been looking for an excuse to drive recklessly ever since I moved to L.A., and thanks to the Upright Citizens Brigade’s Midnight Show, I now have one. It may be…the most laughably bad Hitler impersonator the Internet has ever seen.

(This clip comes courtesy of Damon Lindelof, who tweeted “Best payoff for a PSA ever. EVER.”) READ FULL STORY »

Dr. Phil launched its tenth season today with the much-promoted, exclusive interview with George and Cindy Anthony, their first public appearance since their daughter Casey was acquitted of first-degree murder.

Dr. Phil began the episode by touting the Casey Anthony story as “one of the biggest dramas to ever capture the nation’s attention” and spoke of how coverage of the case left him with more questions that answers. He is certainly not alone. Casey Anthony was found guilty of lying to police but beyond that, little is known of what actually happened.  READ FULL STORY »

Two-time Tony nominee Bobby Cannavale is returning to Broadway in this spring’s production of Funny Girl. Cannavale will play charismatic gangster Nick Arnstein opposite Lauren Ambrose’s Fanny Brice in the beloved musical. “I think they are going to be a dazzling pair and I can’t wait to see them on stage together,” said Michael Ritchie, Artistic Director of Center Theatre Group, who will oversee Funny Girl‘s trial run at Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre Jan. 15-Feb. 26, 2012. Why is Hollywood obsessed with remaking Patrick Swayze movies?

point-break

When a musician dies, sales of their albums experience an immediate “death bump.” If the bump proves especially lucrative, then the necromancers are called in to coax new music out of the dear departed from beyond the grave. Remix albums, greatest hits collections, basement tapes, random conversations filtered through auto-tune and set to Swedish beats: There are always new ways to make money off dead musicians.

Right now, Patrick Swayze is experiencing something like a “death bump.” Swayze died of pancreatic cancer almost exactly two years ago, but in just the last month, three of his most iconic projects have been rejuvenated. Kenny Ortega has taken the reins of a Dirty Dancing remake; the Ghost musical is coming to Broadway after a successful run in London; and yesterday came the announcement that Alcon Entertainment will craft a remake of Point Break, the film which cemented Swayze’s Blond-Jesus persona for a generation of filmgoers. Throw in the long-delayed Red Dawn remake, which is surely going to be released any year now, and you’ve got a veritable smorgasboard of reheated Swayze-dom coming our way. What gives? Tyler Perry tops 'Forbes' list of the highest-paid men in entertainment over the past year

Madea Goes to the Bank. Okay, so that probably won’t be the title for the next installment of the wildly popular film series, but it could be considering Tyler Perry’s titular character has definitely helped him rake in the cash. This week, Forbes released their list of the highest-paid men in Hollywood (not to be mistaken with their list from last month of the highest-earning actors) and the multi-faceted Perry, who has taken on writing, directing, acting, and producing duties in film and television, topped them all with an intake of an estimated $130 million from May 2010-2011.

Perry, who was behind four movies from 2010 to 2011 (including Madea’s Big Happy Family and For Colored Girls) and his hit TBS sitcom Meet the Browns, likely won’t be falling far on the list either, as he’s already extended his partnership with Lionsgate with a multi-year deal and took over for Idris Elba’s role in the anticipated I, Alex Cross.

Perry edged out, by a fairly substantial margin, the man responsible for The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who earned a reported $113 million over the course of the year. READ FULL STORY »

Kylie Jenner: The final frontier of Kardashian Kontrol?

Kylie-Jenner

The time has come, America. Unless 55-year-old Kris Jenner finds a way to augment her outsize clan with yet another baby, it seems we have entered the last phase of Kardashian domination. Yesterday, Kris and husband Bruce Jenner’s youngest daughter, 14-year-old Kylie, made her modeling debut. She strutted at Avril Lavigne’s Abbey Dawn New York Fashion Week runway show. As with all things Kardashian, it was a family affair since Kylie’s older brother Brody Jenner dates Lavigne. Brody was in the crowd to support Kylie, as were older sisters Kendall, Kourtney, and Kim, plus Kim’s husband, NBA player Kris Humphries.

By wedging herself between Kendall’s ascension to music video fame, Kim’s wedding (followed by an October behind-the-scenes wedding special on Keeping Up with the Kardashians network E!), and Rob’s upcoming turn on Dancing With the Stars, is Kylie positioning herself as a force to be reckoned with? Or will she be lost in the shuffle? Is she the final frontier of KardashiaNation (which I’m pretty sure is what Kris would call the U.S. if she had her way)? Or is she simply bringing up the rear? What do you think, PopWatchers?

I Spy: Christina Hendricks at the 'I Don't Know How She Does It' premiere

There’s a photo of stunning Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks at the premiere of I Don’t Know How She Does It in New York City on Monday night that’s making the rounds on the Internet this morning. Apparently there’s something about the photo that really has people buzzing, so let’s take a guess at what that is, shall we PopWatchers? Could it be fashionistas gawking over her gorgeous salmon-colored satin Vivienne Westwood gown? Or was it her pairing that stylish, classy jewelry with a jeweled clutch that has accessories fiends drooling? Nope, we’ve got it! It’s the hair. Gotta be the hair. Mystery solved. Case closed.

Do you know how she does it, PopWatchers?

Mira! Robert De Niro sits down with 'Jimmy Kimmel' star Guillermo for an interview

Robert De Niro has long been known as one of the most notoriously intimidating celebrities to interview. (Just ask Jimmy Fallon, who, as you’ll recall, inexplicably choose to have him as his first-ever guest on his show.) Of course, the reserved actor seems a lot less scary when you place him next to Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘s security guard/star Guillermo Diaz, who dressed up like a Canadian Mountie for the sit-down at the Toronto Film Festival. (JKL is broadcasting from the fete this week.) In an exclusive — sorry, exclusivo — interview, Diaz sat down uncomfortably close to De Niro (he goes in for no less than four hugs with the Oscar winner), discussed the actor’s new movie, Killer I-lete, talked about the “other movie” (a.k.a. “The Focker Movie”), and put him on a phone call with his mother to chat tamales. Watch the funny, sweet, and very polite (“I like you, Mr. Robert DeNiro”) moment below: READ FULL STORY »
