Teen sensation punks Simon Cowell on 'X Factor'

Simon Cowell has terrified his share of aspiring stars during his years as a judge on American Idol and The X Factor. But last night (check out Annie Barrett’s recap), someone had the nerve to throw it right back at him, and Cowell’s stunned reaction was priceless. Fourteen-year-old Brooklyn phenom Brian Bradley took the air out the arena when he called Cowell out: “Yo, I swear to my life, you lucky we’re ain’t in the streets because if we were in the streets, this is what I’d say to you…”

Cowell was stunned. All the judges were stunned. The crowd went silent. But then Bradley launched into his rap, the oddly adorable “Stop Looking at My Momz.” Watch.

The kid’s got IT, no? All he needs is a stage name. (“Brian Bradley?” C’mon.)

The video you should be showing is Jezzlin Little’s I’m Going Down!!!! I loved her and her attitude..I’m sorry but I found that kid annoying show me someone like Jezzlin any day!!!!

  • Lena

That kid was amazing and I loved Simon’s face! I have to say The X Factor is a surprise hit for me b/c I hate hate hate AI and was worried XF would be like that. I was so wrong

  • John

He had a video on youtube of this song and it didn’t go anywhere then which is suprising in this day and age. I will give him credit comparing himself to Kanye. He has a little douchebag in him but he can grow out of it.

I hope they still bring Cheryl Cole in as a guest judge one day as well as Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos from the UK X Factor who can replicate their success in the UK in the US version.

  • Cate

That was fanfreakingtastic. Makes we want to DVR X Factor.

      I hear you

There was nothing original in that performance. Everything – from the attitude (that little speech to Simon at the beginning was most likely scripted and given to the kid to say), the clothes, the rap, everything was a string of cliches. It’s all been done thousands of times before. If he wasn’t 14, he would have never gotten on stage,
What i lookin’ at? Not yo mom…not yo mom.

    • Squishmar

Likely scripted? No sh*t. It was the intro to the song.

I don’t get all the haters, that was hoooooooot!!!!!!!! It is a big deal that he has alllll that @ 14. Artists that have been performing and making money for years don’t have that kind of presence, confidence and swagger. It’s beautiful to behold. The X Factor is the name of the show and he has IT!

His stage name is apparently “The Astronomical Kid”…just search Stop Looking at My Mom on YouTube…he made a music video, and it’s hilarious.

  • sunny

uggg that kind of attitude from kanye is bad enough, and from a 14 year old? what a brat! but i did love his performance

  • JJ

He did a great job but at the end of the day he’s better suited for America’s Got Talent than X-Factor. He can’t sing. Yes he can wrap each week but are voters really going to be impressed that a teenager can copy Jay Z, Nelly, Ludacris, etc? I can’t see him doing really great original raps each week to get votes to beat someone like Jazzlyn. He’s got stage presence and there’s a market for him but a kid act like this will be out sung and his attitude has already worn out it’s welcome.

I can do without the hipster fedora and Mr. Potatohead glasses, not to mention the attitude. But I’m not his target demographic.

Nothing special about this kid’s performance. Showed no special talent. He was, however, obnoxious and arrogant. So maybe he’ll go far in what passes for entertainment to a lotta people today. Ugh.

  • Shannon

His talent was getting the audience to cheer him… that swayed the judges.

  • Sandi

A little flash in the pan and rude on top of it.

  • Ron

It may come as a surprise to many HATERS here, but there really is nothing truly new in the music business. The fact is simple, he has the stage presence of a professional & his skit preceding the song was excellent for effect. It was a great performance, bottom line.
