Idina Menzel’s Shelby Corcoran returns to Lima, Ohio tonight, bringing back both the baby she adopted from Quinn and Puck, as well as Rachel’s conflicting emotions about her biological mother.

And as if there isn’t already enough potential for high drama, Kurt’s got some new issues to deal with as he tries out for the lead in the school play. Shouldn’t be anything a little song and dance can’t fix, right? We’ll see.

You can watch tonight’s episode with us on our new second-screen app, EW.com’s ViEWer. Just click here to try it out. Come on. You know you wanna.

And you should check back after the show for our recap or join Keith Staskiewicz’s inaugural meeting of the Diss-a-Glee Club. (We mean it this time. Some overbearing cheerleading coach sabotaged him last week but this week he outmaneuvered her.)

so this means lea, chris, and idina. will be the only ones singing. just like last week but minus idina.

i think this season is secretly the kurt/rachel spin-off everyone was talking about.

    • mckenna

As long as every episode has Lea Michele singing I’m fine.

    • Jay

Looks like you were right. Except they forgot to put the good songs in.

      • David

Yeah, songs from West Side Story. Hack-work if I ever heard it. Sheesh.

    • iconclastor

You’re right about the spin-off. And Finn lying flat on his face is probably a metaphor for all the plotlines he’s going to get this season. This has stopped being a ‘must watch’. If I want a broadway show I’ll go to Broadway. And Kurt’s solo and the arts education bore was yet another self indulgence this show can ill afford.

      • mike

I though Finn was in on the spinoff thing too?

      • lainey

I agree about Kurt’s plot being another self-indulgence. And his boring ass song went on for so long AGAIN!

    • Matt

I kind of have to agree

    • Gabi

Dear God, if this is what the NY spin off looks like…I’m not watching. It’s too frantic and over-the-top. It’s exhausting to look at them.

    • @David

Are you proud to proclaim that you are an ignoramus?

  • Sara

Seriously, Blaine is a junior? I love when Vocal Adrenaline is mentioned. I am not surprised that they did not win Nationals though. Last year was no where close to Bohemian Rhapsody.

    • Jena

They also didn’t have Jesse St. James leading them. I love Jonathan Groff.

    • Samantha

Blaine is clearly older than Kurt. That was a ridiculous reveal. Not shocked they want to keep him around.

    • Michelle

and when we first met Blaine, they said that he was a Senior at Dalton, because that is why he always got the solos….

    • Elizabeth

Blaine can’t be a junior because they said that all the solos go to Seniors. So he was a Sophmore when he was at Dalton?

  • Lyan

It’s no question that Leah Michele is talented, but she pales in comparison to Idina Menzel. Idina has a powerful voice, Leah tends to fade in the background next to her.

  • Simon

I’m over Brittany’s stupidity. Santa, Storks, unicorns. It’s not funny anymore. Also, can the writers please remember that Kurt and Mercedes were best friends. It’s not like they had a huge falling out. Quit shoving Kurt and Rachel down my throat.

  • Samantha

Kurt is no Tony. Can’t seeing him making out with Rachel’s Maria.

  • Samantha

Kurt is no Tony. Can’t see him making out with Rachel’s Maria. Tony is a rugged hero capable of winning a fight. Kurt is too sensitive.

    • Laura K.

I’m betting right now they’re going to cast Kurt opposite Blaine’s Tony. I cannot see either Lea or Amber, as awesome as they both are, actually singing Maria.

      • Churble

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Half way through Blaine’s song it occurred to me that they had already mentioned liking “unconventional casting” and that having Kurt play Maria would give them plotlines galore.

  • Jay

I’m going to be vain. Lea is so much more attractive without those horrible bangs. She was a beautiful Juliet.

  • Rory

    wow. Blaine’s solo was HOT.

    • Snsetblaze

      I thought so too.

    • Mikey M

      Yes!

    • marjowil

best part of the whole show

  • Anastasia

I’m glad Idina Menzel is back, because the Quinn-Puck-Beth-Shelby plotline is much more interesting than Rachel and Kurt. At least, it could be more interesting, and I’m really hoping the writers don’t screw this one up too.

    • Snsetblaze

They already screwed it up with the scene where Quinn was saying she was the child’s mother. No, you gave her up for adoption. Shelby is the child’s mother.

      • Goldblum

        That’s right.
Quinn is just the egg donor.

  • TayMads

I actually liked tonights episode. I think the Puck/Shelby scene was really nice. I was happy he was able to see Beth and even take a picture with her. I think it’s great he wants to be a part of her life. If Quinn’s storyline somehow brings Puck into the forefront more I am all for it. I actually liked Quinn tonight too.

  • cam

I think they listened to the haters too much who won’t come back anyway and swung the show way too morose and “dramatic” trying to be more “realistic.” The whimsey is gone, the songs aren’t as bright, there’s little fantasy element anymore. I guess I’m in the minority that perfered it colorful, zany, and fun? Guess we’ll see how the more serious Glee season 3 will play out. So far I don’t like the turn.

  • Jen P.

I have tried to defend Glee and be ther for the show but tonight’s episode is really making me lose the faitmoreL hope we gt ot the more story lines for Mercedes (we saw she has a boyfriend for one second) and Tina really soon. I ldon’t mind Kurt but he is always the focus latley and enough already with Barbara Strisand. Why can’t he be happy for Blaine be Tony. His character is so selfish. I miss Finn having stroylines and Puck too. He barely gets any lines. Whatever happened to his and Artie’s new friendship from last season? One last comp, ain’t, I miss when they would do unexpected fun popular songs. I like Broadway but it’s been too much of a focus so far. Sigh…I miss the first season Glee. I had high hopes for this season but I am losing my faith.

    • Jen P.

      Also, sorry for the typos.

    • mike

I am already missing Finn on Glee. What happened to him these last two episode???

  • chocolateislove

I was really distracted by Darren Criss’ arms during his solo. Swoon~

    • chattypatra

Ha! Me too. He is so watchable…and yummy. I love to hear him sing.

    • Sarah

Were my husband and I the only ones that noticed the weird skin fold things on the bottom of his arms. Gross.

  • Snsetblaze

Anyone notice that Blaine was trying out for Bernardo and Officer Krupke. Officer Krupke is a nonsinging. In fact, its been many years but I don’t recall him being a speaking role (there’s a superior officer that does the speaking) although there is a song about him. Bernardo has very little solo singing except a few lines in America. The other male major role that the writers should have mentioned was Riff. He has almost as many songs as Tony. Kurt could probably pull him off but not Tony.

    • Carol

Kurt could play Riff as being secretly in love with Tony. It’s been done.

      • Laura K.

I still think they should cast Kurt as “Maria” and rework it as a gay couple.

  • Andrew

Mr Schu said to Quinn everything i’ve been screaming at the TV with for the entire series.

She’s bugged me the whole series ESPECIALLY LAST SEASON

    • Kirsten

I know what you mean about Quinn. That was one of my favorite parts last night.
