Severus Snape smiles and laughs, a lot — at least in this exclusive video of Alan Rickman and the cast of Theresa Rebeck’s Seminar meeting for the first time last Monday in New York’s West Village. Sure, it’s fun to see Rickman clowning around, but Seminar — and the footage — has other delights, like Tony nominee Lily Rabe and the beautiful Hettienne Park (The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide…). The pair, plus Broadway newbies Hamish Linklater (The New Adventures of Old Christine) and Jerry O’Connell (The Defenders), play tortured students to Alan Rickman’s writing teacher in the comedy, which opens Nov. 20. Check out the footage below.

I hope Alan Rickman does more American mainstream movies from now on.
Second that!
Me, too.
I love his acting.
Thank you for this video) I want to see those photos!
I wish Alan would do more shows in London’s West End…..far easier for me to get to
I’m going to save & try to fly to New York for this though!
Love the article and video and can’t wait for the photos! However please stop referring to Alan Rickman as Snape. That role ended for him and he’s “obviously” doing other things!!! Looking forward to “the Gambit” which should be mainstream since it also stars Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz and Mr. Tuck!
I SO have tickets for this in December! Can’t wait…..
yummmy! I hope this is in EW’s next edition. I’m going to go see this one for sure
I really hope that Seminar transfers to the West End. We Brits need you Alan. Love your new haircut by the way, looking cute.
I have tickets for the show and I CANNOT wait!
I’m with Stacy Steel on this! I really hope this transfers to the West End – please don’t forget your roots, Mr. Rickman! And, is it my imagination, or does he look younger here? I’m guessing that when he’s relaxed/happy & enthusiastic about something, it transfers to the way he looks – & he certainly looks better/hotter than I’ve seen him for some while!
I’ve just watched this video again – and, right at the last close-up shot, you can see something in AR’s hair – a dark speck of some kind right at the front (I hadn’t noticed it before as it was only this time that I had it on FULLSCREEN.) It’s going to annoy me now, especially as I’d happily comb it out for him … !
Alan is so adorable. I really to need to make it to see this!
I love Alan’s films, he is amazing and beautiful actor.
I’m absorbed in Alan Rickman.How I wang to see him.How should I do?I’m a poor studant.
I would love to be closer to New York! This sounds like an amazing play. Sure wish Oregon was a bit closer to the Big Apple! Haven’t been there is in years!
Mr. Rickman – Cute or what?! But why can’t he do this sort of thing here in the UK? It doesnt seem fair on us British fans – after all, he IS British!!
