It’s one thing to meet that actor who was once in that one movie you liked, but it’s another to meet the folks that taught you how to count. Elmo and Cookie Monster made the trip from Sesame Street to the EW offices to tell us about their new season (which starts next Monday), and we couldn’t have been more excited had it been Johnny Depp sword-fighting with a time-traveling Theodore Roosevelt. In honor of their upcoming slate of guest stars, the two of them took us through their interpretations of some of TV’s biggest shows — including The Big Bang Theory, CSI: Miami, and The Office (which, coincidentally, name-checked Sesame Street in its premiere last night) – and we have to say, Cookie Monster would actually make a pretty good replacement for Michael Scott. Check out the video below and watch as your adult and childhood television viewing habits collide. (By the way, I’m the Muppet in the middle.)

Favorite one — The Office! Elmo’s look at the camers…was totally channeling Jim! LOL And apparently, not even Cookie Monster and Elmo can make me enjoy anything Big Bang Threory related. I’ll jsut never get the appeal of that show.
I laughed out loud in my cubicle as they tried to figure out where the music was coming from and Elmo continued to pop up with more sunglasses.
That was priceless.
OMG MY LIFE IS COMPLETE ELMO…JUST SAID…SWAG!! HAHAHA
Isn’t the Street supposed to be a kids show that is teaching useful skills to young people? What exactly are these “skits” teaching? Sounds like the writers are trying to get jobs elsewhere in adult TV.
Just goes to show, no matter how sweet, fun, or harmless something is, someone will come along to dump all over it.
Just enjoy it. It’s the Cookie Monster and Elmo.
Loved the CSI:Miami bit !
My best friend has just announced her wedding with a great man who is a cele+brity!
They met-via { millionaireluv_С’σм }
It is nice club for rich men or pretty girls mate.
You do not need to be wealthy or famous, but you can meet your true love, it’s worthy a try.
First the Glee parody and now this? Two words: Awe. Some.
Too bad my kids are too old to want to watch Sesame Street anymore.
You’re never too old to watch Sesame Street.
Wow, who knew that Elmo could pull off the perfect Jim imitation?
The Office and CSI:Miami are killing me. Sesame Street does parodies better than snl tbh.
Damn, they should’ve got James Spader! Robert California is a a huge fan of “The Street”, lol.
The sunglasses in CSi were worth the price of admission. Thank you for this!
I totally need an EW pillow.
Wow! Quoting Doctor Who: “Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow.” Nice.
That was also my favorite bit. Something not working? World in peril? Just reverse the polarity of the neutron flow.
Between that moment, Elmo’s spot on Jim impersonation, and the whole CSI bit (music! Sunglasses!), this made my week. Just fantastic.
It’s funny how James Spader mentioned “The Street” last night on The Office and now they play this video the day after. I can’t stand Elmo but I have to admit he did channel Jim perfectly on the re-enactment of The Office. I loved how when they did CSI Miami The Who song “won’t be fooled again” kept playing after every sentence and they’re like “where the heck is that coming from”
I used to hate Elmo. That was before I had kids and really saw how they play him. He’s actually pretty amusing much of the time. Of course he’s geared toward 2-3 year olds, but Kevin Clash does an incredible job with him.
LOL!! Elmo even has the annoying sunglasses David Caruso always wears in CSI Miami. Elmo channeling Jim is priceless. Sesame Street needs to keep doing these parodies because they are hysterical. So far I think my favorite is Glee and the annoying Rachel muppet. That was spot on (the bangs the hair flinging, the longing for muppet Flynn.
They should have done RHONY with Gonzo as Simon and the chickens as the girls.
“Where’s the swag?” Ha, ha.
That part killed me!
You don’t get any better than Sesame Street. This was great!
This product was of very poor qualtiy. We were so disappointed. The round outside rods were defective. The wood was actually rotted and split. We have been calling for a week, no one answers and the e-mail address bounced. This was a $69.95 toy organizer, not cheap. The company clearly doesn’t care about it’s customers. Will never order from them again.
Too cute!
“where’s the swag??” <— haha! best ever
