Bitter people shouldn`t be writing articles.
It’s pretty rare that any actor or character can thrive on a show like this, and other than the not good but somehow long-lived ‘What I like about you’ i don’t think I’ve seen a successful sit-com type show based around one female character. My Boys was about the best you could hope for out of a series about a woman who has mostly male friends, and after a while it started to stall as well. I think this sort of show needs to be an ensemble–basing it around one character is what makes shows like these get stale. We need to care about several characters in a show like this or it is easy to lose interest.
Actually, I was really excited to see this series. Their ads made me want to know more about this ‘New Girl’. But when it was officially aired, after watching 3 eps. of this series, I just can’t get anything funny out of it. Jess’s character was very obvious, over the top and quite hard to swallow. I found myself forcefully liking it because there’s Zooey Deschanel – and I kept on patiently waiting for that right moment where something miracle happens on the script that will make me hooked up to the show. But nothing, every episode was so corny and I didn’t have that full viewer’s satisfaction at all. I’m sorry, I love all the casts – they’re physique is so great and well-fitted to the characters but I find it very hard to embrace the portrayal of this should-be-wonderful show.

I too miss “My Boys’. I watched about three episodes of ‘New Girl’ ; it is overrated, but it is alright but not enough for me to make it ‘appointment tv.’ My Boys is a far superior and sophisticated sitcom. The My Boys actors had chemistry. Whenever, I am in the mood for “My Boys’, I just go to my DVD collection. I hope the final season will come to DVD soon but I doubt it.

The show started out OK, but by April it is mostly crap. Cece can’t get enough of Schmidt??? Really??? And Obama is a great statesman. The only character with any redeeming quality left is Winston.
