They probably can’t blame it on the alcohol this time: Glee, which saw its third season debut last night, was down 32 percent in the Read the full post.

Glee ain’t cool no mo’, fools!
agree !
The writing is sloppy. Case/point. They have dropped so many plot points in the past year it’s unreal. Remember when Quinn had a baby? Neither do they.
I also happen to find Blaine and the actor who plays him INSANELY annoying.
Um, did you see the preview for next week? Direct reference to Quinn’s baby (“I want you to be a part of her life, but not looking like this)
After they conveniently ignored the entire YEAR AFTER she had the baby and gave it up for adoption. Ya know, probably one of the most traumatic things a woman could ever go through. Something that shapes a person. Totally ignored, yet conveniently brought up a year later? Sloppy.
I literally can’t watch the Blaine character make awful faces when he sings. I switched it off as soon as he started to sing.
Thank goodness it’s not just me who finds Blaine/Criss unbearable. I found the Dalton thing unbearable, his appearances in Glee 3D baffling (he was elevated above regular stars, He CANT ACT. I’m done with the show.
stopped watching after the super bowl espisode…the show is just not that interesting and can get a bit overly preachy too. At some point, the premise of the show got lost with all the stunt casting. One day, we will be watching VH1″s I love the 2010′s and 6th rate comedians will be making fun that people watched this show
Here’s my prediction for next week’s plot: Sue does something evil which threatens the Glee Club. Will gets depressed about it but, after talking it over with someone, he gets the courage to fight back and the Glee Club survives. Several members of the Glee Club get into an argument but it is resolved by the end of the show when they realize they have to work together.
Cool points for Al – spot on!!
lol
Glee is just tired. It’s uninteresting. It’s stale.
At the Foo Fighters concert last night, but I’ve got it recorded.
Season 2 was almost like an obligation at times, but honestly after seeing Matthew Morrison in concert this summer, he completely turned me off. “Here’s a song about the duality that I have to deal with… I wrote in while I was in London struggling with who I was… am I Mr. Schuester or am I Matthew Morrison.” Well bud, considering you started your set with a video featuring you and Jane Lynch, maybe that argument might have some gravitas if you weren’t milking it for everything you could.
That’s priceless. For all the crap thrown at some of the young girls on set, Morrison has always seemed like the biggest tool to me. I’m glad he lived down to my expectations.
Stopped watching because of:
1. Sue Sylvester: she is just plain mean. How can she continue to teach? This is so implausible. She should be in prison. She is hateful to watch and that carries over to the whole show.
2. Gwyneth Paltrow from last season was so boring. I am afraid that if I tuned in again, I will see her again. So forget it. I am staying away.
Watched it but was absolutely disappointed. Oh look, Sue wants to destroy the Glee club, Will confronts her about it, more songs that don’t move the story along… What the hell was the point of the Kurt-Rachel song? I think from the Wiz? The songs should reflect what’s going on in the kid’s lives. We don’t need these big glossy production numbers prompted to sell songs on ITunes. And Blaine just up and transferring to McKinley? Pretty convenient. Glee used to be the show I looked forward to most on my DVR but it’s been so uneven and inconsistent, I’m wondering what on earth they’re doing in the writer’s room. Hopefully the addition of more writers, including the outstanding Marti Noxon will help. Will still continue to watch but Glee, get your act together because I’ve stopped believin’.
I saw the first 10 minutes last night but only because it was something happening in my dorm and there was pizza. This was my first Glee episode and to be honest it will be my last (although Brittany was funny.) I like Jane Lynch but Sue is just way too over the top. I don’t think people would support a candidate who would want to cut arts education, but then again I could be wrong.
Modern Family won Emmys by doing what it made it popular: being funny and staying true to itself. Glee: not so much.
By the way, is EW going to blame us again when the show tanks again/gets cancelled eventually? It seems like if anything bad happens to Glee we are blamed. EW, you just need to accept the facts and look for other more worthwhile things to promote.
How exactly is EW blaming us?
Never cared for it anyway.
I watched and enjoyed last night’s episode. After last season the thrill has waned, and it’s no longer must see TV, but I will tune in if I’m home. Honestly I don’t think there will be a season 4.
I tuned out for most of last season because I thought it got really terrible and ridiculous. After all the talk about “going back to season one for season three” I thought I’d give it another shot last night. It somehow managed to get even WORSE than I remembered it to be. I am definitely not tuning in again.
Simple – with rare exception – last season sucked. It easily could have been called “The Kurt and Blaine Love Boat”. I like the character of Kurt and as a SUPPORTING Character with limited front storylines, he is funny, interesting, & a good part of the show. Devoting so much time to Kurt (the homecoming queen – who sums up the courage to accept his humiliation — his first reaction to run away mortified was a real reation for any teenager) and his struggles and love life, drained the rest of the cast and storylines. Maybe Rachel, Finn & Puck will be back in command or some other characters, but there needs to be more diveristy of storylines. If so, I might try it again; if not, good-bye. I will miss your Sue. But that is how I ” C ” it.
I think building Season Two around the Kurt character’s struggles really dragged the show down IMO. And the introduction of Blaine may have made some of the 14 year old fangirls happy, but made the show seem really unbalanced. We were tuning in hoping to see the underdog New Direction loser kids, the football jocks and the pretty cheerleaders but the show kept on showing us some elitist private school choirboy acapella team and I didn’t know which show I was watching.
For a show with such a brilliant cast of characters and a strong concept, it’s beyond frustrating to see the same tired ideas and situations played out week after week. Hire new writers. Give Ryan Murphy the boot. He can write witty one-liners in his sleep, but the man CANNOT plot or develop full-fledged characters to save his live. The show needs a reboot.
I agree with you. Pleaple balme certain cast members, but it all comes down to the writing. After hearing they added a few writers, I’ve decided to watch for a bit and see if it improves. This episode felt like a set up of the season. I hope they follow through and don’t get distracted by “oh, pretty new toy that makes us money” like Darren Criss (who is a HORRIBLE actor, BTW).
I agree that the concept is fabulous, but the execution is inconsistent and not “user-friendly” ti the audience. The blame has to go to the writers for not being able to follow through on character development. They need to mold these talented singers into a reality we want to visit every week. Either that, or let the whole theme of the show go camp and have 90% of the program showcase their wonderful voices.
Maybe the actors should be taking acting lessons so they can better implement their own characters as well as plot development overall.
Lets be honest. Ryan Murphy checked out of this show half way through the first season. Great potential but no follow through. Maybe he should just be an idea man, because he loses interest faster than an 8 year old wth ADD
