Before we start talking Bachelor Pad, I just want to say the Bachelor family is thinking about those affected by the hurricane this weekend. Our “Bachelor Gives Back” crew is already thinking of ways to help. Now let’s talk about this week’s dramatic Bachelor Pad episode. We started with the exit of Jake. He left the contestants with some very good advice: If you have any thoughts of winning this thing you have to vote out the power couples. Kasey survived the closest vote yet and as he put it, he feels he is the strongest “strategist” in the house. You would think with Jake gone the house would calm down but that was not the case at all.
I came in the house to introduce this week’s very benign contest, the kissing competition. But as was the case all along with this crew, it didn’t take long to set the kids off. For some reason after all they have all said and done on this show, the kissing contest was just too much to handle and the house was sent spiraling out of control. This is where they decided to draw the line of decency. Sadly enough I’m not even joking. Once they all realized this was not the end of civilization and that they would indeed all live, the contest began — minus one holdout, Michelle Money, who did not want to participate out of respect for her daughter.
The story of the love triangle between Jake, Vienna and Kasey has now become the story of the love triangle between Michael, Holly and Blake. This simple kissing contest might just be the beginning of the end for Michael and Holly. Michael kissed Holly and she said it was nice. Of course, as Holly put it, “Then comes number five” — Blake. The kiss they shared was very different. Despite Erica’s best effort to suck the guys’ faces off, Ella and her self-proclaimed magical lips won the contest in a landslide. As for the guys, much to the dismay of Michael, Blake was the pucker champ.
Ella chose Kirk to join her on the date. If you recognized the house they went to you should: that’s the house we use for the Bachelor or Bachelorette to live in. That was Ashley’s house, and that is exactly where Ashley and JP shared their first romantic date. Kirk’s story is very emotional, as we had learned on Ali’s season of the Bachelorette. I don’t think anybody wasn’t moved by Ella’s story about her childhood and what she wants to do with the money if she wins. The big story of the day, though, was which woman would Blake choose to take on his date. Melissa obviously assumed it would be her. With Jake now gone, Erica did her best to persuade Blake to be her new partner. I love Erica’s negotiating tactics. Last week she kissed Jake to seal the deal and this week she decided a massage and a not-so-veiled proposition would do it for Blake. I’d love to watch her argue a case in a courtroom some day.
When it came time for Blake to pull the trigger, he choose Holly. He might as well have been lighting a stick of dynamite. Whether the decision was right or wrong I’ll give the guy this, he’s got some big ones. I couldn’t believe he had the stones to go with what he wanted in Holly, instead of what he knew was the easiest and maybe the right thing to do and take Melissa. Melissa of course immediately disintegrated into an emotional mess. I loved her line right after he chose Holly: “He looked right in my eye and pinky swore.” I’m sorry did she just say he “pinky swore”? My seven-year-old daughter thought that one was rich. I do understand why Melissa feels like she was played and got screwed over — because she did. Blake was playing the game and she was not. She was playing with her heart and it got crushed. What I think was a little harsh was in the emotional tirade after the decision she said some pretty hurtful things to Michael that weren’t really her place to say. Michelle Money put it best when she said Melissa wears her heart on every article of clothing she has. The scene where Melissa came in to talk to Blake and he was brushing his teeth was priceless. When he told her he needed forty more seconds and she just stood there, I lost it. I had one female friend announce that if a guy ever did that to her she would take that tooth brush and… Well let’s just say he wouldn’t want to use it as a toothbrush anymore.
Blake and Holly took a private jet up to Mammoth Mountain here in California. On a quick side note, Mammoth is one of my favorite secret spots to visit in the world. Once they got out of the house and were alone, Blake and Holly immediately hit it off and their romance began. As much as you want them to find love with each other if that is what’s to be, it was incredibly tough to watch Michael have to go through this. It’s very clear that the more they’ve been spending time together, the more Michael has realized he’s not over Holly. Unfortunately it appears Holly is getting over Michael, and Blake is there to pick up the pieces. I’ll be very interested to hear all the opinions from the “Bachelor Nation” on this. When they returned to the house, the talk between Michael and Holly was intense. He knows he’s losing her again, and that’s tough to watch.
The vote this week was emotional but pretty easy. Melissa was just far too emotional and didn’t have her head in the game. Apparently there was a guy named “Waldo” or William on the show and he was voted off as well. As soon as I figure out who that guy was, I’ll miss him. It’s really too bad — I hear he’s a funny guy. In the previews you see that just because Jake’s gone, the drama is far from over. The game will continue to intensify and so will the battle for Holly’s heart. One final personal note before I leave you this week. The genius creator behind the Bachelor franchise, Mike Fleiss, has a taken his talents to the big screen. He produced the movie Shark Night 3D. If you get a chance, go check out the greatest shark movie since Jaws! We have much to discuss this week; you can always find me via twitter @chrisbharrison.

Unbelievable !
I’m taking IQ tests every week as an experiment. It appears my IQ is dropping about 2-5 points after each Bachelor Pad. Chris, is there anything you can do about this?
Clearly all Blake does not have Holly’s best interest in mind.I am a 28 years old doctor, mature and beautiful.and now I am seeking a good man who can give me real love , so i got a username Lindasunny2002 on–a’ge’l'es’s'da’te.c óm–.it is the first and best club for y’ounger women and old’er men, or older women and y’ounger men,to int’eract with each other. Maybe you wanna ch’eck ‘it out or tell your friends!
Thank goodness the crazy Melissa got voted off. She is much older that most of the contestants at the pad but acts like a child who no one wants to play with. I was sorry to see William voted off. He’s a real sweetheart.BTW,I wanna share a good news to you.My best friend ,she just has announced her wedding with a millionaire man who is a celebrity !they met via

Mike, you’re lucky, I think mine’s dropping even faster, but I CAN’T stop watching. Fortunately there’s a genius like Blake on the show, who uses big words like “impeccable” to describe his chemistry with Holly….ugh.
Oh, and Kasey is maybe the most ridiculous human being I’ve ever laid eyes on. The singing? that voice? wow.
I agree…..I feel my brain rotting as I watch…not sure I can make it for many more episodes….
Don’t watch. I say this to myself every week and then give in. My IQ haz droped considably to…
Oh Geez, Really!!! Paaaaaathetic!!!!
My comment was for Jessica. Clearly a fraud, are you a Russia doctor needing 3000.00 to get to the states to get away from abuse?
You let your 7-year-old watch Bachelor Pad? Unbelievable is right!
@Chris, really – you’re one to talk. I’m sure that your tard baby is so much better off.
You suck, Chris Harrison. Hopefully the producers will replace your ugly, smug face with someone like Jeff Probst.
Chris,
Two comments/questions.
1. Are you and Gwen really allowing your 7 year old daughter to watch Bachelor Pad? Why would you?
2. If we are to believe strategy instead of ratings, why would “the girls of the house” vote off William instead of Kasey?
That was the most disturbing thing in Chris’ letter….please don’t let a 7-year old watch Bachelor Pad : ) Or she’ll start walking around with a high pitched beeping noise in between every other word! “BEEEEPing this BEEEEEPing that!”
i cant believe this!! me and my sister just got two i-pads for $42.77 each and a $50 amazon card for $9. the stores want to keep this a secret and they dont tell you. go here CoolCent. com
Why would I take shopping advice from someone as insane is you were last night?
Aw c’mon, that woman makes me ashamed to share her name. But I’m not trying to get you to a website, that’s just skeezy.
This is not for advertising you moron….Get Off this blog melissa…idiot!!!
ithink vwas big cry babyi wished she had been voted off.
Mike Stagliano should be the NEXT BACHELOR!! HE’S AWESOME IN EVERY WAY!
Vienna and Kasey are down right creepy. I REALLY hope they go next week!
Poor Holly – I don’t envy her the position she is in. Michael seems like such a sweetheart and Blake just comes off as cheesy. That was the longest 40 seconds! VERY funny. Sorry Melissa dear but you need to relax. It”s not like you did not know what this show was all about. Blake made it worse – yes – but as soon as you play with a pig things are bound to get dirty. Shake it off and move on!!
What was the deal with the shirtless man meeting at the fireplace at 2AM?
Can’t wait for next week – thanks Chris!!
Blake comes across as sleazy and slimy. If Holly doesn’t see that and is really falling for him – all I can say is, Michael can do so much better. He’s a sweet heart.
Holly and Michael playing everyone. They were a couple coming on the show, but for drama they are acting (and it is poor acting) they broke up. No respect for them and if they win the money will bring them no happiness (I hope). Just don’t like liars like them.
You REALLY let your 7 yr old watch TV14 that contains this much skin and hormonal activity? (I’m trying to be euphemistic here.) Pinky swear to me that you will stop right now. Even if the show does undoubtedly contain the world’s best straTEEgist, not to mention the greatest Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction Bunny Boiling Moment (a.k.a. Melissa Yogurt stirring) ever, the kid just doesn’t need to be exposed to this at such a young age.
KIRK & ELLA, TAKE IT ALL THE WAY. The two classiest and honest people on the show.
PLEASE NO MORE PAST OR PRESENT COUPLES ON THE SHOW. Love to see unattached B/B on the show.
I agree completely about Kirk and Ella!
OMG!!! I love Ella!! She is so pretty and the real deal. It’s sad men miss her because she isn’t full of drama and Silicone. Guys are so shallow!!!
I’m 32 and I don’t want to be exposed to this, lol!
Chris, I hope you are saving up your money for a good therapist if you are letting your 7 yo daughter watch this…talk about warping a child’s mind!
A 7 yo does not have the emotional or mental capacity to process & integrate this show in a healthy manner. Actually, maybe you should just put her in therapy now.
Shame on you Chris Harrison.
Good lord! I am sure he doesn’t really let his daughter watch the show…. why do you people take everything to heart?????????????? Not to mention there are 7 year olds out there smack dab in the middle of wars, abusive parents ect… this is mild for them! Settle down!
I agree with Mel. You want to keep your kids an innocent as long as possible. Kids don’t need to be exposed to adult drama so soon in life, it will give them a wrong sense of self. Boys don’t need to learn wrong behavior on how to treat woman and girls don’t need to believe woman on this show is reality. She can possible develop an eating disorder and pick the wrong guys to love them. Insecure woman are attracted to emotional distant men to try to change them. Chris keep your baby innocent as long as possible. When the time comes sit down and have that talk with her. Let her know guy are young, dumb and full of you know what. Encourage your daughter to play sports, musical instruments, good grades and college. Give her skill building activities not unrealistic smut on TV. When she is old enough she will be able to understand what is real life and what is not. She will thank you for it.
Vienna and kasey make me sick if they stay on i’m going to quit watching i feel sorry for jake she ran her mouth before he gt their and after she is a photo queen on her all the time sick of her should of never put them on the show i no your rating had to fall
How can you feel sorry for Jake? He is such an arrogant, smug jerk. Although, I agree with you about Kasey. He makes me sick, too. He may even be a worse a-hole than Jake.
Dear Rodney; Please do yourself and everyone else a favour and take a class or two in grammer and spelling.
Wow, Candice. Just. Wow. The next time you have the nerve to go off on someone practice what you preach!!
It’s GRAMMAR.
PS. terrible grammar gets under my skin, too.
Rodney could be a minor.
*Dear Rodney:
*favor
*grammar
(sheesh!)
@Angel
Favour is spelled with a “u” in British English.
ohhh it’s the grammar police on a blog, find something better to do ro just dont read it all. Yeeeesh!
what?
Although Jake is a arrogant man, Vienna & Kasey are much worse. After the “promise ring” event Kasey deserves what he’s getting here. She is shallow beyond belief. I thought Jake’s exit was much classier than expected and he gave them such great advice. I understand why they voted Melilssa off, but they should have voted off Kasey…period. Those two can’t leave soon enough
Vienna clearly was uncomfortable with receiving the “promise ring.” You can tell by her reaction and her body language she doesn’t feel the same for him as he does for her. There was a delay in saying I love you back. Clearly she is using him for security and money. She even said if it came down to Kasey or the money. Sorry Kasey it’s the money. I am trully in love and I would give up the money if it meant not seeing my man the rest of my life. Money trully doesn’t by happiness. I work with millionaires all day and I can tell you for a fact it doesn’t.
Thank goodness the crazy Melissa got voted off. She is much older that most of the contestants at the pad but acts like a child who no one wants to play with. I was sorry to see William voted off. He’s a real sweetheart.
I am seriously SOO tired of seeing Vienna Sausage and Creepy Kasey! Seriously…is Vienna Cross eyed?? I bet they think they are the SH*T!! I’m honestly getting tired of watching them…such loooosers.
Watch last Friday’s The Soup. The Kasey and Vienna puppets made me laugh so hard i was in tears.
That. Was. Awesome. Also when Joel said Vienna could see straight – I cracked up!
*couldn’t – Vienna couldn’t see straight.
My mum calls her Vienna Sausage too. I guess it’s just too easy to make that leap!
I agree. Vienna looks cross-eyed, her dresses are all too tight on her, and Kasey has bad breath. Kasey was also totally weird on the Ali-bachelorette show. He and Vienna fit each other, but are not appropriate for TV shows like this. I agree with another opinion that no current or ex couples should be on the BP. I also agree with another opinion that Michelle has been engaging in strategic moves with the producers in order to be an upcoming Bachelorette.
Melisa needs medication and shock therapy. Vienna and Kasey are miserable, nasty and deserve each other. The nice people who don’t lie, con, and manipulate get voted off. Sick and twisted game.
It’s why we watch it.
Melissa needs shock therapy…LOL…that’s a good one
Saving the Jake exit for this week was a smart plan to suck the Jake fans back for this week. If Jake was not playing another game during the first two episodes then he could have been the best winning strategist in the house. It is too bad that Jake did not serve as a leader for Rated R, William, Ames, and Blake to at least get rid of Vienna on the first night. They could have worked wih Gia to get rid of Michael, Graham, and Casey who probably are friends with the past Bachelor Pads winners who awarded roses for immunity. Melissa is the only person on the series who was in pieces and wanted Blake to put them all back together again. I am so not into the Michael and Holly storyline. I also think that Blake should be able to do alot better than Holly. I would not rate Holly’s looks any better than crazy Melissa. Last week Melissa claimed she was ready to go but this week she drove everyone else insane trying to stay.
True! I probably wouldn’t have watched this week except I wanted to see Jake’s exit. He kept it classy, good for him. I think he has rehabilitated his image as much as possible with this audience.
This episode was great though because there was barely any gross Vienna/Kasey.
Jake classy?? You’ve got to be kidding! How about the F-bomb in the limo? That was real classy. He was just as fake with his low-level “acting” as he was on his Bachelorette/Bachelor seasons. The guy is a jerk, self-absorbed, conceited nutcase who is a total loser. I hope we’ve seen the last of Jake.
Good call Joan! Jake makes me sick. I seen through him on the bachelorette with Ali. He followed dumb Kasey and dumber Vienna around like pay attention to me. Did you see them approach him? What a loser.
I only stayed tuned because there was not so much screen time given to Vienna and Kasey and not as many stomach churning long scenes of this repulsive hero/porn star wannabe duo.
skipper940 it was Kasey not Jake on Ali’s season who made me sick with that creepy tattoo he got just for Ali. She justly rewarded him with that dumping in the middle of nowhere on a glacier by flying off with Rated R which was priceless.
ha ha you should watch The Soup. Kasey sounds just like a muppet do The Soup made muppets that looked like Kasey and Vienna. Vienna is a little cross-eyed so the eye popped off her muppet. You can probably find it on Youtube. Funny stuff!!
You should watch The Soup sometime. They make fun of the people off the show, mostly Vienna and Kasey. They make fun of the fact that Kasey sounds like a Muppet that they as far as to make a Muppet that looks like Kasey. They have a Muppet that resembles Vienna as well and her eye pops off. (Vienna is crossed-eyed) Great show, watch it sometime.
hilarious chris with the dig at william never being in the show. I wouldnt have k nown he was there without today’s vote off
And showing once again how stupid these people are to not vote off Kasey or Vienna.
William and Jake were over thinking how they made Ashley and Vienna cry on screen. They did not have their heads in the game to win and were too afraid of a bad image to play the game correctly.
William can be the new “Phantom”!
Graham hasn’t exactly been getting major screen time either. I forgot he was there until near the end!
Kasey – more big talk about beating up Jake yet he waits until Jake turns his back to make some kind of hand gesture. I think he was trying to be gangsta. Then he waited until Jake got in the car and it took off to make another negative comment.
Jake – continued to say the right things. Maybe it is because he is so wooden or something but I just don’t feel he is really sincere. Nevertheless, he is coming off much better than K & V.
Michael – from break dancer to heartbreak dancer. I just have the sense that he and Holly got engaged very quickly, got to know each other more afterwards, had ups and downs and called it quits due to their mutual doubts. Now he is back in love because he is jealous and feeling regrets and is going to talk about wanting to beat up Blake. By the way – great legs Holly (rose ceremony).
Other contestants – Did you watch last season? Ever watched MTV real world/road world challenge shows? Clearly not as Kasey and Vienna would be gone.
First of all Mr. Jman123 Michael and Holly DID not get engaged very quickly. The beginning of the “Pad” show Michael and Holly both said that Michael pop the question after being together for over a year. Holly broke the engagement because SHE panic then they got back to together and then it was Michael who didn’t want to go throught it because he said he was still hurt from the first break up. Then on last night show Holly mention to Michael that there was 3 months have gone by and not a peep from Michael. Or a chance to talk to Holly about his feelings until they are under the same roof . Again Holly said in her interview its a little too late for that. Holly does need to be more clear with Michael thats she had move on and he need to let go. Its just heartbreak hotel coming up in the next few shows.
Okay, I’ll add the caveat “very quickly by my personal standards”. Both seemed to express that the relationship was not smooth sailing (we all tend to romanticize the past when looking back with regret). I still don’t think he should be going into Kasey territory and talk about beating up the other guy! I’m buying into it that Blake really likes her.
Seeing less & less of Kasey & Vienna is fine with me. It’s time for both of them to go away.
Blake came off as arrogant on Bachelor & he even more so in the “Pad.” I’m afraid Holly is heading for “hurtsville” with him. Infatuation does not last…..especially when it involves a smooth operator (or not so smooth) such as Blake. Run, Holly, as fast as you can. Let things play out in the real world with Michael. What will be will be.
Yeah, well, they’re still dating, so something must be right. I think they deserve each other.
I do not see what the big deal is about Holly. She never even completes a sentence. She just giggles. I don’t get it. Stag is SO much better than her.
Chris- love your comments and humor over the weekly nonsense. Glad you keep this crazy group in line week after week.
Who can blame Blake for moving in on Holly? She is single after all. I do think that she is maybe “in love with love” and not necessarily any specific people. Michael is such a sweetheart and deserves so much more than a shallow person like Holly, as likeable as she is.
Will continue to watch. Jake and Blake are the most intelligent ones in the group but get sidetracked easily by their emotions. Jake made that fatal error the first week. I’m glad Vienna’s personality is revealed on this show because her victim act in the breakup special never fooled me (as it did most others). Good luck to Jake…he isn’t perfect but never deserved the trashing that Vienna gave him, and continues to give him. It speaks volumes about her.
I watch bachelor pad every monday. what’s up with kasey does he have his teeth wired together ? That is how his voice sounds like. sorry to see Jake go.Holly has become a crying babe as well as Melissa.Send Vienna and Kasey home.Come on Melissa Blake isn’t worth your tears. Michael is a sweetheart but the love he has for Holly I think it is a bit too late, she has moved on very slowly.
Kasey sounds like his mouth is full of mush……& it is. It’s giving him bad breath too. Kasey. Kasey. Kasey. It’s long overdue for him to be gone.
uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh kick rocks dude huhuhu
He looks and talks like Beavis…
Kasey’s voice was even worse with a more nasal sound during The Bachelorette on Ali’s season. But his personality is much worse and over-exposed on The Bachelor Pad. Enduring his constant close-ups is bad enough thank goodness we don’t get the 4D bad breath smells like the contestants who had to kiss him.
Regardless of whether Holly should be with Michael or not, if Blake was TRULY interested in a relationship with her and was a gentleman, Blake would back off and give Holly space to get her head together and get over Michael. Breaking up from a long relationship, particularly with an engagement involved, requires time to heal and Holly has not done that. Clearly all Blake does not have Holly’s best interest in mind.
That’s because he only has his own interests in mind.
