Did “The Last Word” or “Paradise Lost” make the list? If not, this is not much of a list. Both films make you rethink your stance on the death penalty and our judicial system in general.
One of the most influential documentaries among comedians is ‘The Aristocrats’. One of the most telling docs about how moral terpitude demands to have a say in what we can and can’t enjoy was ‘This Film Has Not Been Rated’. So I guess NC-17 docs and docs that rejected the NC-17 rating don’t count as good enough to make the list.
FOURTEEN DAYS IN MAY (Paul Hamann, BBC, 1987) tells the story of Edward Earl Johnson, wrongly convicted of murder and sent to death row. I won’t say what happens, but you will never forget it. Hamann’s follow-up ‘The Visit’ will shock you with its horrific proof. Not enough people have seen Fourteen Days In May, and I urge you all to seek it out somehow. Andy, UK
I think the point was to introduce the average person to some movies they might not otherwise watch. Your ‘article’ brings up some of the same points my friends and I discussed. But mostly you seem like an elitist douche.
Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
You¡are¡amazing! This weblog is so great. I really hope a lot more people read this and get what you are saying, ¡¯cause let me tell you, it¡¯s critical stuff. I never would have thought about it this way unless I would run into your web site. Thanks for sharing it. I hope you¡¯ve excellent achievement.

Where’s “Harlan County, U.S.A.”?
You do realize Morgan Spurlock intros after commercial breaks with “Taking a look at the most influential documentaries of the past 25-years,” right?
I was shocked to not see Dear Zachary on the list. Shocked.
4 Little Girls – it’s a shame that doc isn’t on the list

What about “Loose Change”?
Kind of weird that the “Up” series was not on the list . . . and I would have found it weird if it WAS on the list and not in the top 10.

What about Etre et Avoir, (To Be and To Have). This is number one on my list and nobody’s mentioned it!
