The last four standing on The Glee Project are certainly not who I would have put in the finals when the show first started. (That was about a year-and-a-half ago at this point, right?) Over the weeks we have seen some surprising exits, some welcomed ones, and some totally disappointing ones.
But now we have Alex, Samuel, Lindsay, and Damian left standing. Yes, four. There was no elimination last night, proving that Ryan Murphy is a guy with a soft spot for a quartet of kids following their dreams.
So let’s size the final four up.
Alex: I was touched by his performance of “His Eye Is On The Sparrow,” and not just because he shared that it was the song played at his father’s funeral. (Although, that really helped get a lump in my throat.) He’s definitely one of the strongest vocalists left in the competition, but past displays of his character have been questionable. (See: Bitchery in “Duets.”)
Samuel: He’s a rock star. He doesn’t look like anyone on Glee right now, he doesn’t act like anyone on Glee now, and he’s probably someone Glee could use right now. So he probably won’t win. If he does, I owe everyone a cookie.
Lindsay: I have reservations about Lindsay. Aside from looking a bit like dark-haired Quinn (Dianna Agron), she behaves a lot like Rachel Berry (Lea Michele). She’s like a Glee hybrid, and if that’s anything like other hybrids, it sounds terrifying. Her vocals are strong, but still pale compared to some of the others currently on the show. Her vocal performance on “Defying Gravity” proved that.
Damian: He’s “Mr. Personality” in the competition, according to Murphy, and I have to agree. I mean, what’s not to like? (Wait, he’s 18, right?)
Of course, my opinion means zip. Actually, none of our opinions do because they picked the winner months ago. That said, if they don’t pick the person who wins the poll below, we’ll be really pissed and say ugly things. So get voting!
(I voted for Damian, because Google tells me he’s 18, and when Google tells me convenient information, I believe it.)

Agreed. Damian is the only genuine person left on the show. Sam is fake, Alex is a bit of a jerk, and Lindsay is boring. This being said, I would be rooting for Hannah if she were still on the show.
I would love a romance between Brittany and Damian… a guy she cannot understand. Imagine all the great lines they could give her character regarding anything Damian says.Comedy Gold!!!
Make Damian an Irish Cathlic, too and smack a couple of tatoos on him and you got your christian character as well. This is about acting. If you can put a healthy actor into a wheelchair, then you can certainly make anyone a “Christian”. besides, Samuel looks like an alien. Alex is a Kurt wannabe, Lindsay is so white bread but would fill the role of a driven student. But Damian is clearly the freshest model of a character I would like to see. So he isn’t a phenomenal singer or dancer. So what. Its about a high school glee club. Most are never anything close to Broadway material. It is the characters and their stories that keeps us watching. Besides, they can edit and mix so well that anyone can look and sound good.
damian should win and @ Thad your just a hater dont be hating on damian just cuz he is better than you and how would it feel if you were on that show and we hated you huh?? HUUUHH?
I am so shocked by the results. Damian is my least favorite of the four and of the entire season. He should have been sent packing two weeks ago when Cameron bailed. I thought my prayers were answered. Please, anyone but Damian
Honestly, Alex comes off as lazy, Lindsay comes off as fake, and Samuel comes off as opportunistic (suddenly he’s conviently Christian?). Why wouldn’t hoardes of people love Damian? He’s the most likeable of all of them. He’s never done anything that could be edited in a bad light on the show, so he hasn’t gotten a bad edit.(which is a cop out to me, because if you hadn’t done the things that were shown there wouldn’t be any material to be edited to make the person look bad.)
Completely agree with you on all counts. They are all very talented but they’ve all gotten on my bad side for one reason or another, except for Damian. Samuel seems to be trying to hard to be the cool one, and I FEEL emotionally manipulated every time Lindsay is on screen, like she’s working it 24/7 – it shouldn’t show that much.
I don’t know if you can call someone with a tattoo on their neck “conveniently” Christian?
Damian can’t sing, dance, or act, and the only semblance of a character he has shown or been given is that he is Irish. Mr. Personality my butt.
Thanks Jenn, my thoughts exactly. And he was suppose to go home two weeks ago. The other three are very good, we are just put off by their backstage antics and attitude. How do know that the main actors already on glee don’t have the same attitude.

Samuel’s tattoos with bible verses were there long before Cameron left the show, and he grew up performing in a Christian band. He just didn’t talk about it much (though it had been mentioned on the show) until Ryan brought it up. People are too quick to judge these kids.
In regards to the conveniently Christian comments, and the Christian tattoos:
I have a tattoo of a sheep on my Achilles tendon, unless people specifically ask about my tattoo I don’t talk about it. Sometimes if people ask I may say “Oh I’m a knitter.” Or I may say “Psalm 23.” But I feel like Samuel is being kinda’ fake because he never mentioned his tattoos before Cameron got kicked out, and Ryan was talking about Christian characters (he mentioned in the Sexuality episode at Final 3 that he was weirded out by playing a gay character because he is Christian, but even then it was when Cameron was…). You can have Christian tattoos and not talk about them, not make a big deal, but I think he keeps bringing it up and it feels fake.
@AJ as Samuel would now say: “Amen!” To all your observations..
@Kim I think you got it backwards. Ryan is the one who brought it up to Samuel about the religious angle during a last chance performance -not the other way around. And Samuel mentioned his religion to the guys in their dorm before he knew about Ryan’s interest in writing a Christian character. Go back and review those scenes again. I do not think his belief is fake -that’s ludicadris. He is only talking about it now because he knows that Ryan is interested in him for that reason. If you do some research and watch his twitvids, our his live stream or any interview he has conducted he is religious. He even goes to church with Hannah. There is no way he is faking all of that -show or no show.
I also agree. Let’s not forget that Samuel totally took credit for Hannah’s “Skidoosh” when he used it in the video shoot. He can claim to be Christian all he wants, but actions speak louder than words. He’s a phony!
Nancy A, if you bothered to find out the rest of the story you’d know that Hannah got Skadoosh from Kung Fu Panda–it’s not hers. Also, Samuel took her to be a friend and mentioned what he did thinking it would please her but instead she got turfy and freaked.out even though, not being the homework assignment winner, she wasn’t going to get the opportunity to use the word in the sound booth. Like a gentleman, Sam apologized anyway. To her credit, Hannah forgave him. If she did, you should too.
I’ve kind of stopped watching – I’d wanted Hannah to win and once she was eliminated, I didn’t care about the other contestants. I will say, however, that I can’t stand Alex or Lindsay. As long as one of the other 2 win, I’ll be ok with the outcome.
Lindsey looks nothing like Quinn and is not much like Rachel either. Rachel isn’t fake she is truly confident in her talent. She can’t sing half as well as Lea either.

Torn between Damian and Samuel! I’d be happy with either – I’m thinking Damian will win but I might want Samuel to win just a smidge more. I think either of them would bring something refreshing to the show, and I think they’re both talented. I just hope Ryan Murphy drops this “You’re too smooth, too much of a rockstar, why haven’t you cried yet” thing with Samuel. Kid IS a rockstar, he knows who he is, and he’s comfortable with it. God forbid such a person exist!
Hopefully it’s Damian and this won’t be another Gretchen/Mondo debacle. However, my 3 faves are gone: Cam (fave), Hannah and Marissa. I agree with Sandra: Alex is WAY too immature and bitchy and very, very lazy as he’s proven week after week. Lindsey is fake. Samuel is different and I’d give him 2nd as I think he could be an interesting addition. Out of the four I see Damian fitting in with the cast the best. He seems nice and genuine.

i hate alex, he has a great voice but the diva thing is overdone and what kind of character could he play? We have Kurt and Mercedes already. i really liked Hannah she was the best one there and Ryan eliminated her. i have a feeling Alex will win if Ryan didn’t like him he would of been gone long ago.
The Hannah elimination totally perplexed me – Samuel, you aren’t the show because you aren’t an outsider, Lindsay I don’t root for you, Hannah you’ve got a great personality and you are the show – Hannah, you are eliminated. WHA …???

That’s Ryan Murphy for you. So sad Hannah’s gone. That being said, Damian is the sweetest person I’ve ever seen. I’m in love with his accent. I love Lindsay, but she’s no Lea, and I love Samuel, but not for Glee. Alex is sweet, and I’d much rather see him on Glee in drag than Mercedes. Still, Damian all the way. I HATED Ryan Murphy when he played favorites with Cameron.

They have already hired a love interest for Mercedes. He’s the guy who played Tinker on Friday Night Lights. He also played Travis’ college roommate on Cougar Town. He’s very funny. I don’t know if he sings or not though.
