Bruce Willis in talks to play General Joe Colton in 'G.I. Joe' sequel. But what about the hair?

After misfiring with the first G.I. Joe film, The Rise of Cobra, Paramount seems determined to call in elite reinforcements for next year’s sequel. First, the studio announced that sequel-savior Dwayne Johnson would provide some muscle, playing Roadblock. Then Wonder Woman Adrianne Palicki came aboard to play Lady Jaye. And now, Bruce Willis is in talks to play the original G.I. Joe, General Joe Colton, as initially reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

Willis has a plethora of cinematic experience in saving the world (Armegeddon), battling terrorists (Die Hard), and being literally unbreakable (Unbreakable), and he certainly has the chiseled look of man who’s seen and done it all, like Gen. Colton. But how devoted will Paramount be to Colton’s appearance? Yes, I’m asking about the hair. Colten had a thick flat-top, brown up top and gray around the ears. But rather than wrap a piece on Willis, a la Sean Connery in The Hunt for Red October, I suggest they let Willis be Willis. Bald is bad. (And by bad, I mean good.) Certainly much better than this.

Would you mind if Colton’s head was Eisenhower smooth?

G.I. Joe was one of the worse movies ever made.

i agree.that movie was/is complete GARBAGE on every front.the story was crap, the actors were crap, everything was crap.you have everybody practically related to eachother in one way or another.snake eyes is supposed to be this bad*ss ninja yet duke beats him during training.zartan is a master of disguise who only changes clothes and has a give-me-away song he constantly whistles.marlon wayans.covergirl was a mute prop.cobra commander was pathetic.destro’s face seen throughout the movie.sienna miller as the baroness.they all get caught and are jailed in a movie called the rise of cobra.again, marlon wayans.dr. mindbender being played by that guy who is in all of stephen sommers’ movies.anybody who actually liked that trash should be ashamed of themselves.

Hair vs. no hair is moot.

The fact that the studio hired the director of the Justin Bieber movie over the director of “The Negotiator” and “The Italian Job” for this gives a clear indicator on its probable quality.

Count me in! The first movie was silly but unpretentious, and overall pretty fun. It knew what it was and what it wasn’t.
This one is sounding even more fun.

Movies from childhood toys…what’s next? The CGI/live action “My Little Pony”? “Candyland”? “Mystery Date”? “Ka-Boom”? “Hi-Ho-Cherry-Oh”?

lol, look up the trailer for “battleship”, actually based on the game

I’m waiting for “Trouble,” myself. My sisters and I played that for hours while growing up, although Hi-Ho Cherry-O may be a close second. (Seriously, Hollywood, the Battleship movie is bad enough. Stop it.)

There’s actually a Candyland movie in the works as well. The Battleship trailier looks like it might be ok… Aleksander Skarsgard is in it… can’t be all bad!

they should cast zhang ziyi next!

Movie makers need to take a darker approach when making these types of movies. The ideal formula is what Chris Nolan did with the Batman trilogy. G.I. Joe producers need to follow Nolan’s path. There were some unforgettable baddies when I watched the cartoon as a kid. For example, Serpentor is one scary mofo….

i don’t think they should do that.it worked for nolan, but with g.i.joe you want a raiders of the lost ark kinda feel.not kiddie light, but not “dark” either.not every property should be done in the dark and gritty mode.serpentor even cobra commander could be made scary sinister standing out as truly evil against the “raiders-y” tone of the film.
