Ann Coulter has a gift for outrage. When The Insider‘s Kevin Frazier asked her if she “sometimes says things that [she knows] will stir people up, and upset people, and really drive people crazy,” she couldn’t help but grin and answer, “Oh, sure.” Normally, it’s liberals that are the target of her shocking proclamations, but it turns out she’s not so fond of the Royals either. “I find it a little baffling when Americans get so gaga-eyed over a princess,” Ann lamented. “In particularly Lady Di, who was just this anorexic, bulimic narcissist.” Watch the clip below, or if your browser is having trouble, here. 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding's season finale: The craziest wedding ever?
Anybody find it funny that the season finale of a bat-crazy show about British gypsys and their lifelong quest to wed falls on the weekend that Americans celebrate their independence? No? Oh, okay.
Last night TLC’s My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding wrapped up for the summer with possibly their nuttiest episode yet. Mary, an Irish Traveller at the ripe old marrying age of 23, wants a wedding that will “rival the Royal wedding of William and Kate.” So she enlists the services of renowned Liverpool seamstress and wedding planner, Thelma Madine. How long is she given to organize it, though? Three weeks!
Check out some of the craziest things we learned about the wedding and the Traveller lifestyle.
PopWatch Confessional: Which 'summer song' do you dread hearing?
Summer songs: Usually we talk about them in the happy sense. They’re catchy, they make us feel good, and they’re guilt free as long as the sun is shining. You’re allowed to have “Escape (The Piña Colada Song)” on a playlist as long as it’s titled “Summer.” But today, as I was driving and singing along to Garth Brooks’ “Two Piña Coladas” on the radio, I found myself panicking that the station, obviously feeling the summer vibe on this holiday weekend, would play Smash Mouth’s “All Star.” Just thinking of the opening notes, after all these years, makes me wince. Now playing the radio in the car feels like Russian Roulette. Yes, I can just change the station if it comes on, but the song will have won.

'Bridesmaids' becomes the highest-grossing Judd Apatow movie: Which is your favorite?
Bridesmaids officially became the highest-grossing Judd Apatow-produced movie at the domestic box office yesterday. After 49 days in theaters, the raunchy female comedy has pulled in an impressive $149.4 million, edging out Apatow’s previous best performer, Knocked Up, which earned $148.7 million in 2008. Apatow has already taken some time to gloat to Deadline’s Nikki Finke, who (along with many others) predicted the film would stall at the box office: “I am so delighted to confirm that I was right and you were wrong… From now on when you say something which hurts me, I will remember to read your early Bridesmaids opinions and predictions and that will soothe me.” Ouch!
Bridesmaids opened to a solid $26.2 million in its first weekend in May, and in the frames that followed, it displayed remarkable resilience. While most other summer movies were falling by about 40-60 percent per weekend, the bridal comedy posted tiny drops of just 20, 21, 27, 16, 30, and 26 percent over the next seven weekends, signaling terrific word-of-mouth. The honeymoon isn’t over for Bridesmaids, either — the Kristin Wiig laugher is still raking in money, and it should have no trouble breaking the $160M plateau in a few weeks. Congrats, ladies!
It may have made the most money, but is Bridesmaids at the top of your Apatow rankings? How does the comedy stack up against the super-producer’s other hits like Anchorman, Knocked Up, Superbad, and Step Brothers? Vote in the poll below:

Who should direct 'Thor 2'?
As EW reported yesterday, the Thor sequel is on track for a July 2013 release. EW has confirmed that Don Payne is working on the screenplay — he was one of five credited screenwriters on the first film — but Marvel Studios is still staying mum on rumors (originally reported by Deadline) that Kenneth Branagh will not be returning to the director’s chair for Thor 2. It would be a definite loss for the franchise — in his review of Thor, EW’s Owen Gleiberman noted that the film proved Branagh to be an “unexpected maestro of digital effects.” But I’m always kind of excited by the prospect of new directors hopping into superhero franchises. Much like how different artists and writers put their own spin on the characters in comic books, a fresh director can bring an exciting new perspective to a hero. Best example: The Batman film series, which skewed melodramatically weird with Tim Burton, grittily realistic with Christopher Nolan, and utterly terrible with Joel Schumacher. READ FULL STORY »
