“The bridge: An invisible shield that zap you luck a bug”? Funniest line in the article.

If Draco took ownership of the Elder Wand without physically having it by dis-arming and its possible to take ownership of wand by killing the owner, then why didn’t Voldemort gain ownership in the forest the first time he AK’d Harry(when the horcrux died in Harry)???? Inquiring minds…

    • Dee

You answered your own question…Harry didnt die, only the horcrux died. The wand still had allegience to Harry as long as he was alive.

      • Daniel

        but he still disarmed him

      • Tootz

I don’t think he did actually disarm him, Harry offered himself voluntarily for death so I’m sure that’s JK’s reasoning.

      • Daniel

true, but is that actually explained in the book, but why didnt voldemort become master of the wand in the forest, was it because harry sacrificed himself or because the curse killed the horcrux in harry?

      • Tootz

I think it’s a matter of physical disarment. Can’t remember entirely Draco took Dumbledore’s wand (which I think Snape then someone managed to return to Dumbledore to be buried with, can’t remember), then Harry snatched Draco’s wand (his ACTUAL wand, not the elder wand which had since become his TRUE wand although he was unaware as he didn’t have it in his possession). It didn’t matter that Voldemort cast AK on Harry, he volunteered to have it cast on him and it didn’t work properly anyway so Voldemort didn’t ‘defeat’ him. Does that make sense? *lol*

      • Daniel

haha yeah it does, thanks, sorry its very confusing.

The “Death Eater with bad timing” was actually Pius Thickness the then-current Minister Of Magic.

Feel that Voldy & Harry’s final scene was really – well – the book was better than the movie, everyone in the GH sees V die. Also, I would have loved a few more minutes of Mrs W & Bellatrix’s fight, and not on what looked like bleachers (?? that was weird). I really missed Trelawney’s crystal-ball missle attack “and there are more for those who want them!” and the scene in the GH when Harry is beseiged by well-wishers when all is over, the mixture of grief for the fallen and hope for the future. And what WAS it with the resurrection stone, it should have fallen from his hand AFTER he was he was whacked by V in the forest, not beforehand! (though, yes, I “get” that HP was sacrificing himself)…

I was really looking forward to that. When I heard that Emma Thompson was not supposed to be able to come I was so disappointed. But I was so glad she came back but was that really worth it? I wanted her throwing balls damm it!

Percy was in the movie (in a couple, actually) but he doesn’t say anything. He’s just standing with the rest of the Weasleys when Voldemort comes back and tells people to “join up or die horribly.”

  • Daniel

to become master of the elder wand, you dont have to kill the previous owner, you only need to disarm them. when voldemort killed snape, he assumed he was going to become master of the wand because he thought snape was the owner. now we all know that snape wasnt master of the wand so therefore voldemort was wrong, but say that snape was master of the wand, would voldemort have become master of the wand anyway, considering he didnt actually disarm or kill snape, when in fact nagini killed him?

  • Tootz

I think if the master of the elder wand is killed (by someone/thing that can’t use it, I mean Nagini couldn’t have used it) it’s up for grabs to the first person who finds it. JK needs to REALLY define these things though (hopefully she will do on Pottermore).

    • Daniel

yeah, but i thought if the person who was master of the elder wand died and they werent disarmed or defeated up until their death, then the power would be broken and the wand wouldnt work anymore, or was that only if that person dies of natural causes. i know, there are so many things that are unexplained, i really want to find out about the process of making horcruxes!

      • Tootz

I think the wand still works, the power is just up for grabs for whoever finds it next. I don’t think it ever loses its power or becomes ineffective (unless being used by someone who doesn’t ‘own’ it while it’s real owner is still alive).
JK really should explain this and the making of horcruxes (she’s tried to get out of the latter by saying it involves some gruesome horrible magic stuff but I think that’s just an excuse), here’s hoping she will on Pottermore. ;)

      • Daniel

but how is it up for grabs if the previous owner was never disarmed or defeated, wouldnt that mean that it woulndt work for that person?

This is in refrence to the writer of the above article asking where Percey Wesley is in this movie
Percey can be seen 1 hour and 43 minutes into the movie at the part where Voldmort is declaring that harry is dead the camra shows Ron and Hermione and Percey is standing kinda behind them

  • Lau

If I remember correctly, didn’t Harry fix his wand then put the Elder Wand in “it’s rightful place?” Cause when Harry breaks the Elder Wand, everyone seemed to be thinking “Why not fix your wand first, THEN break it?” It does make sense if you think about it, to fix then break. Just a thought.

I don’t even know the way I ended up here, but I thought this put up was once good. I don’t know who you are but definitely you’re going to a famous blogger if you happen to aren’t already. Cheers!
