Nora Roberts is a queen – her Bridal series from this spring is amazing.
I deeply prefer Regency-era England, though, and for that – Julia Quinn is my undisputed. Anyone who has not read her Bridgerton series should do so now.
I have been reading romance for years. I am an avid Nora Roberts fan ( I own every book I can get my hands on of hers) plus Julia Quinn, Judith Mcgnaught, Catherine Coulter, Catherine Anderson, and the list goes on. Over the years, I have frequently frustrated by the idea that reading romance novels should make women feel “guilty.” I love reading many genres, but I always come back to my romance novels because they offer an escape with a happy ending. Maybe that makes me deluded. If so, I say bring on the delusions
I’m a mature and fairly well educated career woman, but I too have a weakness for the modern day cowboy. I seem to grab every Diana Palmer book I see in the store, knowing that the basic plot is the same for every single one of them… I just can’t help myself.
Sports romances are my guilty pleasure…Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Rachel Gibson do them the best
Kathleen Woodiwiss’ “shanna” was the first and trashiest romance I ever read, back in high school. Now I’m strictly a Diana Gabaldon reader as far as “romance” is concerned.
If you really want a good cowboy read you should try Lorelei James (Rough Riders Series)these stories are HOT!!!!!
I love modern day western romance novels. I have read the entire Creed series. I also discoverd a great writer Lorelie James who writes erotic modern day westerns, hot, hot, hot!!
