Done that with many shows
fringe, 30rock, weeds just to name a few.
It’s gotten to the point where I hardly watch new shows anymore right away. I wait to see If they stick around for awhile, then catch up.
Most everything I watch is recorded or on DVD. With Fringe and Lost, I gave up on the stories early on. With 30 Rock and Community and Big Bang Theory, I never could keep up with the weekly schedule. With Psych, Leverage, White Collar, Burn Notice, I got frustrated with the long gaps between shows. With Firefly, I never knew when the show was on.
Did that with 30 Rock season 1, back when they would have almost all the seasons episodes on NBC’s website! Fell off this season watching (right after Liz and Carol broke up!), so I’ll have to rent it.
Actually this has happened to me a few times. First it was SeaQuest of which I enjoyed the first season, but then I went off to college and was busy with other things that did not involve a TV. A few years ago I found the first season of it on sale at Best Buy and picked it up and was delighted to enjoy the show again. I went back and got the others (yes, I know season 2 was awful) and enjoy them when the bug bites to watch. Thanks to Netflix I was able to reconnect with both Roswell and Veronica Mars, which I also saw the first season of each and for different reasons did not continue on with the shows. Netflix is such a great friend, through it I have been able to discover such gems as Greek, Eureka and Dr. Who. All of which are shows that never made it into my purview while on TV (yes, I’m aware that Eureka and Dr. Who are still on TV, I am now caught up and ready for new seasons).
I had no intention of watching back to back epsisodes, but i checked out the first ep on netflix and just ended the 4th. My dark circles will prob be bad tmr! This is such a GREAT show. Weird timing that you also wrote about this a few days ago as I just came across it nOw! Everyone should watch this show!!!
I gave on Lost in the 2nd season. That time of my life was really sad and I couldn’t even concentrate on a TV show. Three months ago, I got Netflix and watched the whole 6 seasons. I wish I hadn’t done it because it really affected my emotional being. I got so attached to the characters that at the end, I mourning the death of all the characters.
Watching shows via DVD and Netflix is a must.Especially if you want to stay connected with puzzling plots and characters like my favorite shows: Madmen, TrueBlood, Damages, Lost. DVDs are also ideal for those shows you crave such as: 30Rock, Entourage, Arrested Development, Weeds and Dexter. Also if shows don’t air anymore (x-files, firefly, arrested development) DVDs are ideal.
