Have you ever asked for a refund after walking out of a movie?

Agreed with what people are saying above, asking for a refund just seems ignorant, unless theres a malfunction in the showing, then just leave if you dont like your choice. I remember walking out of GI Joe two summers ago. God awful movie.
I almost walked out of the last Indiana Jones movie and Transformer 2. They were just so bad, but I stayed.
I loathed the first ” Cars ” film, and the kids were incredibly loud and unruly in the same theatre. So, I had to ask for a refund.
So you asked for a refund for a children movie because kids were watching it and being noisy. Pathetic.
It’s a childrens movie. The majority of the people there will be children.
I couldn’t even stand to watch the TRAILER for “Tree of Life” so I already know not to go.
Asking for a refund just because you don’t like the movie is dumb.
Unfortunately, I know people who have.
Spider-Man 3. The whole thing was just abysmal but the minute Tobey Maguire launched into a random dance sequence I almost cried out in pain. I ran out of that theater like it was on fire and I got money back….only because the girl behind the counter took pity on me, having seen Spider Man 3 earlier that day as well.
I walked out during that part, too, but went back after it to watch the rest of it. What were they thinking?
I got a refund at a showing of the John Wayne movie “Rooster Cogburn”. It wasn’t the movie, it was the rowdy and loud theater full of high school kids who were there for some history class and were completely uninterested in the film, so were throwing popcorn and talking…we only lasted about 30 minutes and easily got a refund.
i walked out of “summer of sam” and would have loved to walk out of “disturbing behavior” but my friends, who were my ride, were into it so i had to stay. i did ask them for my money back though.
in the cut and matchstick men
matchstick men was a wretched movie!
I thought Matchstick Men was good…
I also enjoyed “Matchstick Men.” I thought it was fun and I loved Alison Lohman in it.
My friend and I walked out of “Ice Age” and got a refund. So awful and annoying. Cannot understand how that movie has spawned sequels!
Yes, for both MAD LOVE and PULP FICTION.
Walking out of Pulp Fiction says everything we need to know about you.
Agreed!
Yep.
Speaking for myself, I LOATHED Pulp Fiction, an ugly movie (both viually and morally) if ever there was one, only for faux-hipsters who think Taratino is “cool” when he’s a hack.
But you’re not speaking for yourself if you claim that “Pulp Fiction” is an “ugly movie (both viually [sic] and morally)”, or when you say it’s only for “faux-hipsters who think Tarantino is ‘cool.’ You’re making a judgement on those who did like it–and there are a LOT who did. Including the Academy. You’re only speaking for yourself when you say you loathed it (for whatever reasons).
Boo!
I agree with Jill. Not everyone likes violent movies like Pulp Fiction.
I agree with everyone else besides Holly and Jill.
I walked out of Titanic…probably the only person on the planet who found this movie long & the Dicaprio/Winslet storyline kind of ridiculous. Then I had to wait 2 more hours for my ride to finish watching the movie & take me home!
I thought my sister and I were the only two people who hated this movie. Half the dialogue was “Jack!” “Rose!” “Jack!” “Rose!” Don’t get me started about the guy running through the ship firing a gun while the ship is sinking. James Cameron needs to stop writing romances and stick to special effects. The only reason we watched it all was because we’d already watching and hour and a half of it when we wanted to leave.
That’s my only quibble with “Titanic.” You have the real drama of the ship sinking (what we’ve all been waiting for) and you need the added melodrama of Billy Zane running around with a gun?!?! Ridiculous.
Didn’t enjoy it, either. My ex-husband thought I was insane for not loving it, but to this day, I turn the channel when it’s on. And didn’t love Avatar, either; found it predictable.
Ugh. Suit yourself. I’m still disappointed that I didn’t see Titanic in theaters (I was too young then). You guys can trash it all you want (BTW, it doesn’t make you cool, it’s just your opinion), but it’s one of my all-time favorites.
I’v asked for a refund for every movie I’ve ever seen, except for Fast Five. Fast Five is the greatest film of all time and deserved each dollar I spent to see it 57 times. It should win Best Picture, Director and Screenplay. Vin Disel should win Best Actor. The Rock should win Best Supporting Actor. They should just rename the Oscars, The Fast Five Awards. Every other movie sucks.
I know you were just trying to make a joke…but I lost brain cells reading that.
Yeah, you’re kidding, right?
LOL is joking. LOL believes that “America loves crap”. LOL is pretty much correct.
It now appears that “LOL” especially loves crap.
I got a refund from Avatar. I thought it was the worst movie I’ve ever seen. I guess I got lucky because my theater gave me my money back after I sat through the whole movie.
I hated Avatar as well, but as much as I hate how it’s the highest grossing film of all-time, I didn’t ask for my money back.
I remember a couple with a child who looked about 5 walking out on Magnolia when it got to Tom Cruise’s “Respect the C@ck…” speech. Why they took a kid so young to an R-rated movie, I don’t know.
Because many parents should not be parents.
That’s one of my favourite movies ever.
Hahaha.
