My faves were Ryan, the talking parrot, and both magic acts. I agree with the above posters that the little kids will last a while because they are cute but I didn’t understand a word they were saying. The last act wasn’t really that interesting for me but I didnt like Fighting Gravity last year either. I know I’ll be in the minority, but I usually ONLY like the singing, dancing, and magic acts (as long as they are not little kids). The other acts I get bored with pretty quickly.
I swore off this show after last season. Way too much time invested watching, only to find another mediocre singer crowned the winner. Fighting Gravity should have won. Dumb voters.
Just out of curiosity, did you actually vote last season? Or just leave the talent decisions to the “dumb voters?”
Do agree that Fighting Gravity was fantastic, though. As is this season’s iLuminate.
How long does this mess go on? 4 months. Ugh. I quit watching when that old, obnoxious, unfunny Gramma Lee made in to the top 3 a few years ago.
Yep, 4 months. Just like Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, SYTYCD and pretty much every other reality talent show out there.
Also, for the record, Grandma Lee was booted before the Top 5 (admittedly, still way too high).
I hope for once they avoid the inevitible singer as the winner. Last year they truly had a unique act that was something the show claims that it is looking for and thats unique talent in Defying Gravity. But once again the final two were two singers who once they left the stage were never heard from again……………..
Actually, Jackie Evancho (one of the final two singers last year) released a Christmas CD last fall that went platinum. And the winner, Michael Grimm, just released his first post-show CD and is currently on tour.

iLuminate for sure! Geez, I hope someone other than a singer wins this year. They already have a show for that – it’s called American Idol. Let’s pick something UNIQUE this year America!
I thought this was the strongest season opener for AGT ever. I LOVED
Ryan Andreas, the Miami All-Stars and iLuminate. The magicians and Debbie (and her parrot) were really good. And the SH’Boss Boys were both cute and talented. Plus the guys falling off the stage had me in stitches. Looking forward to this season!
I keep seeing all these posts of people saying iluminate is a rip off of Fighting Gravity. Fighty Gravity was a ripoff of Expression crew from Korea. I liked iluminate and I think their show will be more interesting and creative then FG. They will able to go farther I think.

In spite of auditioning talent and displaying weird geeks getting buzzed with the panels reactions,who is fooling who they passed the audition in the first place in order to appear in the show.The audience should realize that the best acts are sent by talent agents in order to be promoted for their commissions.
