'Cars 2' trailer turned into a toy story

Disney has put together a new trailer for Cars 2. Well, check that: It’s not really new, but it was put together — literally. The Pixar peeps built a LEGO reenactment of their first trailer to promote their June 24 release — and their line of LEGOS toys, of course. The child in me is mesmerized — LEGO missiles! LEGO explosions! — and desperately wants to believe this entire clip was shot in some humongous studio hangar where the elaborate LEGO landscapes and toys still exist for play, so don’t ruin it for me if you know that it’s all a clever CGI creation. Take a look.

    That is pretty friggin cool!

    • Absolutely disagree

meh, Cars is the weakest film made by Pixar and really hoped they would not go the sequel route – what made Pixar great was the unique and refreshing quality movies they made with its own universe. TOY STORY can be the exception allowed because it was their flagship. I hope this is not a sign of things to come, always leave ‘em wanting more

Oh shut up! We don’t need to hear it for the 1,503,203,678th time.

      • Cars stinks

No, Cars does suck – the ripped off Doc Hollywood, and Pixar is getting greedy, “Cars 2 : The Quest for More Cash”

After watching it, I’d guess it was mostly done with real Legos, with the cars’ movements and expressions being CG. You can do a lot of amazing stuff with real Legos and stop-motion animation.
