Lauren will go home tonight. She is good but not quite ready yet. Too many mistakes. Between the 2 Haley is the better performer, Scotty is the better singer. Who knows? I think it will be Scotty’s win in the end.
I think Haley is the better singer in range, technique, versatility, overall talent than Scotty.
But Scotty is in that special sweet spot that could make him a real moneymaker. A special voice coupled with a young man with a 1st class character.
So Haley is a better singing and performing talent – but she is like a baseball player that is major league that can play all positions but pitcher and bat well. Scotty is the pitcher who can’t bat or field but has a 97 MPH fastball with a decent curve and changeup and is RARE and valuable…so gets the bigger contract over a Haley sort of highly talented utilityman.
It will be a more interesting Finale if Haley goes up against Scotty than Lauren.
Lauren would go into the Finale asking when she gives her gracious 2nd place speech to Scotty and the audience.
Haley will – if she goes to the Finale – bring everything she has and fight Scotty all the way.
Scotty advancing is a simple fact of life. As certain as the sun shines from fusion.
The only real debate is which girl should face him.
Arguing the last 4 weeks Scotty should go, and why, is a total waste of time.

Scotty/Lauren finale = boring. Hopefully one of them will go home for the sake of having a little variety next week. I don’t want two country artists in the finale just as much as I wouldn’t want two R&B divas or two rocker guys.
Exactly. No one wanted a Fantasia, Latoya and Jennifer diva off, but this boring Country off is ok? NOT! Had it been two good country singers then yes but not these two.
I am really not sure who is going home, no one stunk, but no one encouraged me to vote for them. I hope for Haley and Scotty because it conceivably will be a more entertaining finale and neither would be super intimidated by the Nokia Theater. I think Scotty and Lauren did best with Jimmy’s choices, leaning a little more toward Lauren (if that pause was purposeful, then she really won) and Haley cleared won the first round, but none of them was best served by the stupid judge’s choices. That is the cheesiest of Kenny Roger songs, I hope you dance didn’t stretch Lauren’s vocal into the place where she is comfortable (and didn’t every one learn the Thia problem), and I Ought to Know would just have Haley do all the things they have lectured her amount (I was hoping for a Joss Stone song or maybe Lily Allen’s Smile).
It wouldn’t surprise me if the wrong one stays and a gd one goes home,just like James and Pia did.Haley is too immature to win,she couldn’t take criticism well from the judge’s last week,she wanted to argue.the finale should go to Lauren and Scotty.Haley screams instead of sing,u can’t understand her.So I hope the right goes home.Just like sending James home he will be an inspiration for kids with aspergs syndrome cuz he hasn’t stopped him,so America vote for the right one.

Pretty obvious Scotty will have a career, but only because of his voice. I loved him from the beginning but the fact that he hasn’t changed at all over these 12 weeks has made me bored with him. I would love to see Lauren and Haley in the final, but I’ll be okay with Scotty and Haley.
Fangirls (I’m talking to you, J-Lo) across America will inevitably result in Scotty being this season’s “American Idol” but the very clear winner of this season is Haley Reinhart. She has shown musical growth, sang songs that are true to herself, and taken risks that have paid off in more ways than one. I haven’t reliably watched American Idol for about four seasons now, and around the time of the top eight, I heard of Haley. She is a star – the other two are duplicable country singers who have no true identity – Haley has one, and she’s embraced it.

Exactly, G. You know Jimmy wants to work with her. And I’m sure there are other mentors and current artists that watch the show that are fans (we know Adam, Kelly and Melinda are). And Jimmy Page does not offer up the Zeppelin catalog at the drop of a hat. He MUST be a fan. Also, money talks. Her downloads have done better than most (all?) of the others. That’s what really matters. The proof’s right there. I’ll be waiting to buy her CD whether she wins or not. And, truth be told, it would probably be a more interesting record if she DIDN’T win!
Oh brilliant. It seems endless negativity towards Haley that sometimes I just can’t take it. But the kinds of your post reminds why I am obsessed with her and been rooting for her the whole time. She is totally worth it. The other two can only say they got the votes, nothing else. Don’t like them, never will as long as there’s Haley Reinhart. A totally legit artist.
Scotty all the way. I believe that Randy and Jennifer are trying to fix it,so Haley can win, she doesn’t deserve to win all she does is yell when she is singing. Haley should of been gone way before James. I’m beginning to think that AI,is fixed.
If you think the judges have been trying to fix it so that Haley wins, then I think you have this show mistaken with something else.

You’re seriously mistaken. All the judges have done this season is leap spoonfuls of sugar upon every contestant but Haley. You simply must be watching the show in an alternate reality, miss “sassy”.

Lauren has not left her comfort zone, done anything edgy or controversial this season, and that’s fine, but mundane. Scotty has a fantastic, pure country sound with a huge career ahead of him……I think he’ll win. However, Haley has pushed herself to select difficult songs and really “put them down her way”! That’s what being an artist is really about, just like Stephen Tyler! And let’s face it, Haley is gorgeous, which compliments her incredible voice.
Scotty should have gone home weeks ago. Both the ladies are far more talented singers than him.
I am jsut glad to see Two girls in the top 3 and perhaps 2 girls or at least one girl in the Finale… We NEED a girl winner!!!!
I honestly think it’s a toss up between the girls as to who is going home. Haley has certainly come on strong lately, but don’t underestimate Lauren’s fanbase. We’ll see. I’d like to see Scotty go home, but that is NOT going to happen since he’s going to win the whole thing.
I would like to see Scotty go home tonight and have a girl finally win on IDOL again. There hasn’t been two girls in a finale since Fantasia/Diana in season 3.
