MTV casts a hypothetical, live-action 'Daria' movie. Now I want them to make it for real

This would be amazing. Definitely not Adrian Grenier as Trent. What about Jonathan Rhys-Meyers?

Ooo, good idea! Love J R-M. I saw him as a brooding, dreamer type until he started his stint on The Tudors. Think there’s any hope of getting him off his throne?
I think The Tudors is over, but you’ll have to get JRM out of rehab to make that work. Isn’t he a bit old, anyway?
Yeah, I think the show’s over too, but I was talking about metaphorically. Uh.. Anyway. Heh, yeah, he’s got some personal demons to work out. As for being too old… Nah. Trent was older than Daria anyway. And I’m all for bringing in actors that are around the same age and of the same generation as the original fans of the show. To pick up where things left off, ya know?

I’m so glad MTV realized Aubrey was the reincarnation of Daria in real 3D life! I miss Daria, so I would definitely love if they made a movie, and not just some movie they make and put on MTV, but actually release it in movie theaters.
Aubrey is the perfect Daria.
I LOVE Kat Dennings, but I agree with others here… this is not the role for her.
How about instead of a live action movie they release an UNCUT with ORIGINAL MUSIC version of the complete series instead. I bought the DVD before reading the reviews and while I’m glad I have it in DVD quality theres music and scenes missing and so the show feels off when I watch it.
Sadly, they won’t Janet the music costs WAY too much.
I bought the complete series off Amazon its still hysterical and the only thing that shows the show’s age are the size of the cellphones in the early ones and Quinn’s beeper. This would be epic if it happened!

Oh dear god, this needs to happen. Needs, needs, needs to happen. I will pay money. Lots of it. More money than I have. I’ll take out a loan for a house, and then promptly shovel it towards seeing this to fruition.
I think they ought to get Pixar to do a Daria movie. The characters would look almost real (think Shrek) and the original voice actors could play their old characters.
I’m sure MTV has considered either bringing back the show, or making another movie, but most likely not a live action one. That being said, I think this idea was an excellent experiment. Hopefully the reaction will plant the seeds in MTV to seriously consider bringing back the show. I would have to say that I would see Rooney Mara as the role of Daria. Christopher Walken, perhaps. No Will Ferrell, it’s not his cup of tea.
