Country Music's Best Couples: Who's your favorite?

With Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s weekend wedding now in the books — Shelton returned to Twitter Monday afternoon with the message, “Hey y’all I’m back!!!!! Without my sack!!!!,” and “Mrs Shelton” became a trending topic after Lambert tweeted, “Mrs Shelton here! Winning!!!!!” — is celebrating country music’s best couples with a 50-slide photo album. It starts with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans (pause to appreciate their color coordination on their wedding day), naturally includes the eternal Johnny Cash and June Carter and the tumultuous George Jones and Tammy Wynette, and in addition to Blake and Miranda, involves the likes of Tim and Faith and Garth and Trisha (along with Keith and Nicole and Brad and Kimberly, which could be reaching, but both actresses serve as muses, so we’ll let it slide).

Who’s your favorite country music couple? Blake and Miranda are definitely up there for me — I think most women like a guy who isn’t afraid to love a woman made of gunpowder and lead (and fond of kerosene). You could feel their chemistry back in 2006, when they dueted on “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma” for a CMT concert. Watch it below. They’re the lighter side to the heat Tim McGraw and Faith Hill bring whenever they sing opposite one another (watch their “I Need You” video also embedded below). One couple I would add to the list: Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black. They’re on my mind just because their duet “When I Said I Do” shuffled onto my iPod recently and I stopped and wondered if I was the only person in the country who listened to that song on that particular day.

I love them both as musicians, and I wish them the best of luck with their marriage.

I’ve watched the video of them on the Duets show dozens of times on YouTube. Have loved her since Nashville Star and him since he started out.

Vince Gill and Amy Grant. They are both the kindest, most down to earth people ever and have no interest in wealth or material things. The good they both do is enormous and mostly with no fan fair.

I’m sure all of these couples are great together. Hopefully, they will stand the test of time. But, for me, it’s got to be Johnny and June. Theirs was a love for the ages. When she died, I think he actually lost the will to live himself.

I love the way Blake looks at Miranda when she sings. It is like his heart is literally bursting with pride. Best to the both.

I have always loved the Faith Hill/Tim McGraw match up. Obviously they have made it work while having successful careers. Hopefully Miranda and Blake can be just as strong.

Waylon & Jesse have to be up there on the list of best couples.

Roy and Dale are the originals, leagues above the other couples mentioned, though Johnny and June sure are a close second.

I love all these musicians. But I agree Johnny and June were the best for all time.

I absolutely LOVE Miranda and Blake!! I also like old school couples Waylon & Jesse and Johnny and June. Country music has a bunch of really great twosomes!

Johnny and June will always be #1. But Tim and Faith are kinda like the modern equivalent. Garth and Trisha didn’t really get married until Garth was pretty much retired.

Now those were some romantic clips. Loved all three. God bless ‘em.

    Garth and Trisha!

      Definitely Garth and Trisha….

Blake and Miranda are my favorite celebrity couple! Watching that video made me remember how much better he looks since he cut that hair off!

I could be wrong but Miranda is such a spitfire. That can be super sexy and attractive in a girlfriend but it may become knock down drag out fights and great make up sex. I see them as George Jones and Tammy Wynette for some reason.
      I hope I’m wrong

Johnny and June, hands down. Not only country music’s best couple but one of the all-time best celebrity couples.
To be honest I really don’t like the majority of modern country music, but Miranda Lambert is awesome.

Best of luck in your marriage.
