'Brothers & Sisters' is canceled. Re-live the final moment.

Brothers & Sisters will not be returning to ABC in the fall. Something tells us the producers knew the season 5 finale would likely be the series finale when they ended it with Nora quoting George Eliot in voiceover at Sarah’s wedding — “It’s never too late to be what you might have been” — and dancing to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” In case you missed it, watch the final moment of the series below. RIP, Brothers & Sisters. You were no longer the show we fell in love with, so we can’t pretend we’re devastated to see you go, but we did spend many a Sunday night enjoying your Walker family dinner fights and wine consumption. (At least we still have Cougar Town.)

Im sad that it is ending because I lovd the show, but at least they had a good ending and not a cliffhanger that wouldnt be resolved.

    • Mariah

but it was a cliffhanger. Why’d they bother 2 say Kitty was pregnant or bring in Brody’s daughter randomly if they we’re going to end it. Leaves me with what was the point, did everyone end where they we’re supposed 2 b and thts just it. It fustrates me.

I think the finale was the best they could do considering when they filmed it they didn’t know if they would come back next season. It wrapped up most things but also opened a few new possibilities for storylines in case they came back. Personally I didn’t really care too much about Kitty being pregnant or Brody’s daughter so I think ABC made the right decision. There was nowehere else for this show to go, it had run its course. But I really did enjoy it when it was in its earlier days!

I agree it was a cliff hanger, I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen, thanks ABC for NOTHING!

      • Crystle

It was such a horrable thing to do!!! Im still not over it!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Janet Dougherty

I was so sorry to hear that Brothers and Sisters is being cancelled. I really loved the show and looked forward to Sunday nights because of it – Once again, another great show bites the dust…

      • William J Menne

I have to agree I loved the show and I don’t understand why they always have to take the shows that I like and dump them.

      • Stacie W

I totally agree Janet. I guess we will have to fall in love with another great family show next fall.

      • Janice

I agree, very sorry to hear that it was cancelled. I think it’s all about the $…..please do not replace it w/a reality show. Maybe another network will pick the show up?

      • Tracy

I enjoyed this show so much..Come on ABC what were you thinking? Now we have some show about an airport!!!

      • Deanna

I am so upset about this news! I look forward to watching this show every Sunday night. It was a great show! I think I am done watching ABC network!!

      • trish

Totally agree!! This sucks!!! All we need is one more reality show. Finally someone writes a good wholesome story and not enough people want it. What does that say about our society???

  • Buffy Freak

I used to really enjoy B&S and still watched mostly out of habit and hope it would get better. But it became so schmaltzy. All the paternity stuff just became too much. Plus two of the five kids were barely on the show anymore. It was time to pull the plug.

    • RBlues

ITA! I have 4 episodes on DVR waiting to be seen. Now that I know it’s been cancelled, I’ll probably see them in a different light. I really used to enjoy the family dynamic, the wine, and everyone talking over each other (SO totally my family), but I grew tired of the dropped and/or rushed storylines.

    • crispy

Yeh, I only watched out of habit too… and for the occasional Walker conference call.

      • nikkib

        LOVE the conference calls!!!

  • Sal

NOOOOOOOOO!!! While it could be schmaltzy at times, there were episodes that were absolutely perfect….Justin’s drug intervention episode ripped my heart out…Im going to miss this show

  • Chris

I loved this show including the final season. Kevin and Scotty were too cute. I will miss it.

I wish we had more closure with Kitty’s pregnancy.

    • sam

If they bring it back, here’s how it’ll go: Kitty keeps baby, Kitty relapses, Kitty can’t do chemo, as she dies, they take the baby early, now Nora raises both her kids. Kevin daughter chooses to move away with her brother due to the new baby. Sara screws everything up by being a money fisted realist. Saul and the freaky looking boyfriend never marry – one dies. This all takes place within 2 episodes of the new season. Oh yeah, some questionable paternity babies show up too.

      • Deediddy

LOL!! yeah that would be good stuff and don’t forget we need rebekah to come back And stir up drama for Justin.

  • whistle

    NOOOOOOOO!

  • Michael

NO! Ohhhh, SAD! While it definitely had its frustrating storyline moments (I’m looking at you, Ryan, what a mess), overall, this was such an amazing show, and I really loved the core characters (Kevin, Sarah, Nora, Kitty, Robert, Justin, Scotty), and I will definitely miss them. I am glad it could end without any serious lingering cliffhanger. But nevertheless, I’m not glad it’s ending. Walkers, you will be missed.

  • Zoe

If it had to end, at least it had a good finale, with no cliffhangers, and all five Walker kids in the same place at the same time. (Give or take Ryan’s and Sarah’s paternity, of course.) I’ll miss my Sunday night DH/B&S habit.

    • Jessa

NO CLIFFHANGERS?? Really? They barely touched on the whole Kitty being pregnant thing and what about Scotty and Kevin’s son? No series truly ends neatly

  • Susan

I love this show… I hope they don’t put some stupid reality show in their place..

    • JAKOMLEN

BROTHERS & SISTERS IS MY FAVORITE TV SERIES. WHY WOULD ABC TAKE THIS VERY POPULAR PROGRAM OFF THE AIR, WITHOUT WARNING AND WITHOUT ANY CLOSURE TO THE STORYLINE? PLEASE , ABC, RETURN OUR FAVORITE SHOW TO YOUR VIEWERS

  • marcia

One of the best show on TV. Praying another network picks it up.

    • suzi

Are you listening, other networks? Pick it up!

      • Tracy

        AMEN

    • Dave

Seriously, pick it up other networks!

  • Kata

I think this was one of the most brilliant endings to fans of any show. It showed the love, acceptance and tolerance between family members who may differ in opinions and history. It was joyful and the pieces fit together. I will miss this Walker family and their ups and downs and wish I would have been born into one like it. This was a bit of my make believe and I enjoyed every episode… even the less good ones. A bit sad.

Cougar Town – never watched. Annoyed they keep shooting in my neighborhood.

    • Ro

Aww, that was sweet, and it summed up my feelings exactly. But if Cougar Town films in your neighborhood, you should drop by for some wine!

      • Kata

Thanks for the compliment. Curious, do they drink a lot of wine on Cougar Town?

    • philip

kata – I agree with you wholeheartedly – this show had some wonderful moments and many fine + beautiful actors – Ill miss it too- but it had a beautiful finale

  • dz

Why do they always cancel the good shows???? B&S you will be missed! Now I will have nothing to watch on Sunday nights! Thanks ABC! Looks like I will have time to read a good book!

  • Joseph T

I agree with the author, I spent many a Sunday watching it but this year I lost interest. It was great those first couple seasons.

  • commentor

I had a feeling that was gonna be the end. Stories were mostly wrapped up, and we can imagine the rest. Overall, a good conclusion.

  • nancy suite

I am absolutely devastated!!! This show touched my heart and life every Sunday. You have destroyed any Sunday Night enjoyment!! I will stop watching all ABC shows. I think you all need to reexamine what your viewers really want to watch. I am not ur viewer anymore and hope your network crashes!!!!!

    • Miss

Wow, you need to find some enjoyment outside of television.

  • VICKI

No No No Brother and Sisters is still a good program. Now Off the Map. Two great soap opera’s maybe three over. ABC is crazy. I am just about ready to switch to NBC and CBS.

    • Kata

All networks are taking us for granted. I am soon giving up on watching their shows on TV period and moving on to cable.
