'Dancing With the Stars' alum Derek Hough danced last night on 'Better With You.' Do you miss him -- or his Hidden Gems?

Derek Hough appeared on ABC’s Better With You last night, and it wasn’t until I saw him there that I realized how much I missed him on DWTS.

Lies! I actually just miss his Hidden Gems and was saddened when ”Little Derek” didn’t appear last night on the show — at least to this gem hunter. (Although, part of me wonders if ABC would edit out big “Little” cameos.)

Did you check out Derek’s appearance last night, DWTS fans? Find any Hidden Gems? (The only thing I saw was the man wearing a beige shirt and hoodie in the background who looked like he was over-exposing his pale, hair-less chest.) Also, Annie, hurry up and post this week’s Hidden Gems. Check out a clip below:  READ FULL STORY »

'Glee' countdown: Learning to love yourself, Gaga Style

Glee-Born-this-way2

Paws up, GleeMonsters! In a special super-sized episode clocking in at 90 gleekin’ minutes, it looks like we’re in for some big diva ‘tude tonight. The McKinley kids take some pointers in self acceptance from two Queens of Self Love, Lady Gaga and Barbra Streisand. Tina and Mercedes (yay for under-utilized main cast members!) are tackling the ultimate love-yourself anthem “Born This Way,” while Rachel and Quinn team up with a sweet “I Feel Pretty”/”Unpretty” mashup, which sounds pretty awesome. Judging from a strategically placed Band-Aid, it looks like Rachel might take the lyrics of the 90′s TLC hit to heart (“You can fix your nose if he says so”) by trying to shave down the schnoz, but she shouldn’t! It’s her best feature, and what would Rachel do without the Babs comparisons?  READ FULL STORY »

Michael Douglas was on The Oprah Winfrey Show today to discuss his recent battle with throat cancer and the recent acknowledgement by his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones that she suffers from bipolar II disorder.

When asked by Winfrey about how his cancer diagnosis (he has been cancer-free since January) changed him, Douglas choked up and said, “I have a much deeper appreciation of family and friends.” His wife, meanwhile, is doing “great,” and is currently shooting a film in Louisiana. “I think she’s relieved because she has a much better understanding [of her bipolar disorder],” Douglas said. The actor also explained that Zeta-Jones didn’t originally plan on disclosing her health issues but was “outed” by someone at the facility: “Some other patient probably said, ‘Hey, you won’t believe who’s in here now.’”

The actor also addressed his son Cameron’s current jail stint for selling crystal meth, saying that Cameron is “in real good positive shape.” One bonus: The Oprah Winfrey Show is apparently a must-see TV with the other inmates, or, as Douglas put it to Oprah, “Your show is very popular in the house.”

What film directors will you follow anywhere?

Categories: Movies

How important is the director when you decide which movie to see? Traditionally, it’s the stars we pay to see, but I’ve noticed that the director is playing a greater role in my movie-going selection process as I get older. I think it’s because I trust certain directors, whereas that personal relationship doesn’t really exist with movie stars. I trust a director to deliver something both familiar and new, something that I’ve tasted before but in a totally different form. READ FULL STORY »

Royal Wedding poll: Prince Harry is the U.K.'s most eligible bachelor. So would you watch him on 'The Bachelor'?

You know what? Enough about William. Sure, he’s the Windsor who will be taken off the market this Friday — but that’s precisely why we should all start shifting our focus to his brother, ginger-haired, ruddy-cheeked Prince Harry. Though rumors have been circulating that Diana and Charles’s younger son is planning to bring his on-again, off-again girlfriend Chelsy Davy to William and Kate’s wedding, Prince Harry hasn’t been seriously linked to a permanent ladyfriend in quite some time; he and Davy officially split in 2009. That makes “the spare” the U.K.’s most eligible bachelor. And we all know the best way for an eligible bachelor to ideally find his soulmate: The Bachelor!

So let’s engage in a silly thought experiment, PopWatchers. If Chris Harrison could somehow convince Harry to step into Brad Womack’s carefully polished shoes, would you be there to watch what happened? Or does the idea of a royal appearing regularly on a reality show somehow not sit well with you? Vote in our poll and let us know. READ FULL STORY »

'RuPaul's Drag Race': A chat with America's Next Drag Superstar Raja

Raja

America’s Next Drag Superstar Raja was crowned in last night’s season finale. And while we didn’t get to hear much from her afterward — “The cash is mine, and I am America’s Next Drag Superstar!” was her post-crowning quip — Raja just spoke with EW in a quick interview in which she addresses everything from how she’s feeling at this moment and her philosophy of drag to what she really thinks of Shangela and where she thinks she’ll be in 10 years. The most poignant moment of the phone call? Probably when Raja copped to being frustrated by all people out there who hate her. “I can’t say that I love having haters,” Raja said. “I would rather not have that because I’m a very sensitive person, and I don’t think I’m as big of a villain as people would like to portray me being.” Read all that and more below. The Aflac Duck gets new voice. A nation exhales sigh of relief, while simultaneously covering ears

Gilbert Gottfried may have been silenced for his insensitive jokes about the tsunami that ravaged Japan, but the Aflac duck will quack once more.

After an extensive nationwide search, Aflac has found a replacement for their loud, insurance-shilling duck to startle you once again when your television gets inexplicably loud during commercial breaks. With over 12,000 submissions (we sincerely hope there was some sort of raise/incentive for whoever had to listen to all of those), Daniel McKeague, a 36-year-old radio sales manager from Hugo, Minn., bested them all. 'The Fast and the Furious': Five reasons this franchise has lasted a freakin' decade

fast-and-furious

The Fast and the Furious was a movie about cool cars, hot babes, and a big bald dude with arm muscles the size of your head. It hit theaters in 2001 and made a lot of money. 2 Fast 2 Furious didn’t even star the big bald dude — Vin Diesel departed the franchise for what seemed, at the time, like a healthy movie career. The sequel did well at the box office, even though it was named 2 Fast 2 Furious, which was arguably the worst movie title ever… until The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift limped into theaters in 2006. The threequel grossed a mere $62 million domestic gross, a severe drop-off from the first two movies. But a funny thing happened on the way to the blockbuster graveyard: In 2009, the franchise ditched the definite article and reunited the original cast for Fast & Furious, which grossed a franchise-best $353 million globally. How could this happen? With Fast Five opening this weekend, let’s run down five reasons — besides the cars and the babes — why this series is still apparently growing one decade later: READ FULL STORY »

'The Voice': How will it compare to the 472 other singing competition shows out there?

the-voice

Between the 90-minute episode of Glee and the series premiere of The Voice, it seems like everyone will be singing on prime time television tonight. Except, presumably the cast of The Good Wife. But, again, just a presumption.

Of course, people singing on TV is nothing new. Since the days of Star Search (the original, not that one hosted by Arsenio Hall. That one goes in the vault of things that never happened. Saved By The Bell: The College Years lives there too), we’ve tuned in to watch regular folk sing their hearts out on national television. Will they be mercilessly criticized? Or become the next big thing, right before our eyes? Now, there’s The Voice, the new NBC series in which a panel of celebrity judges — or coaches, as they’ll be known — simply listen to contestants (their backs are turned to the talent while they perform, in case you haven’t seen NBC’s bazillion promos) to ensure it’s all about, well, the voice. But, even with The Voice‘s line-up of relatively relevant music stars — including Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green — as well as a refreshing concept, the series still really has a lot of singing reality shows to live up to. And, in case you missed the past decade, there have been scads of ‘em. READ FULL STORY »

Gwyneth Paltrow talks mean grandmother on 'Chelsea Lately,' drops the c-bomb

Chelsea Handler and Gwyneth Paltrow could pass for sisters. They’re both attractive blonds. They’re both half-German. They both had grandmothers they called Mutti. And they both threw their grandmothers under the bus last night. Handler explained that her Mutti “was a real b—-,” but Paltrow raised the stakes, saying “My Mutti was a real c—.”

Nice. Paltrow explained that her Mutti “tried to poison my mother against me, but it didn’t work because I have a great mother … She must not have been very happy and she must have had a lot of pain because she was mean as hell.”

After Handler joked that people should retire Mutti — the German word for mother — Paltrow added that her own “hot” mom, Blythe Danner, goes by Lalo around the grandchildren. And this was only after she tried to inflict Woof on them. Watch the clip below and scroll to 3:58 for much about Mutti. READ FULL STORY »
