Why should Lindsay Lohan play Victoria Gotti? Just look at this picture.

Honestly, this picture should just be Lindsay Lohan’s audition tape for Gotti: Three Generations. After all, there’s a lot riding on the actress nabbing the role of Victoria Gotti in the film, starring John Travolta as John Gotti, Sr.: It could just be Lohan’s first post-rehab (and, let’s face it, post-2006) success. (As mentioned at Tuesday’s press conference for the film, Lohan is currently in talks for the role.)

While it’s hard imagining Lohan as Deep Throat‘s Linda Lovelace (a role she lost) or the late Valley of the Dolls actress Sharon Tate (a role that she’s in talks for), Victoria Gotti actually seems like a good fit for Lohan. READ FULL STORY »

Does it matter who anchors the CBS Evening News?

Scott-Pelley

With Katie Couric reportedly eyeing the exit, the third-place CBS Evening News seems prepared to move in a different direction. The New York Times reports that 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley is in line to take over the anchor’s seat should Couric depart when her contract expires this summer. Though CBS reiterated that they’re still negotiating with Couric and declined to comment on the speculation, CBS’s Harry Smith and Russ Mitchell, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper have been mentioned along with Pelley as her possible successors.

Pelley, who’s worked his way up at CBS by reporting from some of the hairiest hot spots on the globe, has the credibility to step right in and do the job. But does he really want it? Or need it? READ FULL STORY »

Jenn Sterger, the woman at the center of the Brett Favre sexting scandal, gave her first-ever interview on the subject to Good Morning America today. The 27-year-old model and TV personality revealed a piece of information almost as shocking as the NSFW text messages and pictures Favre allegedly sent her back in 2008: Sterger has never met Favre, nor did she ever give him her phone number.

“I don’t know him, I’ve never met him,” Sterger told GMA anchor George Stephanopoulos. “I’ve never met the man.” According to Sterger, the extent of their real-world contact was passing each other in the tunnel to the stadium, as she would any other New York Jets player.

Sterger also explained the reason she has kept quiet for so long. (The story broke in 2010 but the text messages and voice mails in question are from 2008). READ FULL STORY »

Most know Shannen Doherty best from her years on Beverly Hills, 90210, but I gained an appreciation for the actress — turning 40 years old today — after watching her three seasons on Charmed and her appropriately sadistic turn as the host of Scare Tactics. Despite omnipresent rumors of her poor off-screen behavior, it’s been difficult for me to think of Doherty as anything but charming after watching her play caring oldest sister Prue Halliwell for 67 episodes on Charmed. (And that’s even considering I preferred the post-Prue Charmed years.) But, in celebration of her 40 years on this Earth — and 30 years on our TV screens — I ask you, PopWatchers: What’s your favorite Shannen Doherty role? Vote in the poll after the jump! Ashton Kutcher's anti-human trafficking ads: Confusion abounds

Tagged:

Let me start off by saying that any attention brought to an important cause is a good thing. That said, when the cause in question is human trafficking, you might want to steer clear of gimmicks and focus on the message. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, apparently, didn’t get that memo.

Their foundation just released a series of PSAs that bring attention to the sex slavery problem. At least, that’s what you’d deduce from a clear, concise advertisement. These are just weird. READ FULL STORY »

Lunchtime Poll: Chocolate vs. A Dance With Maks

I didn’t think it would ever come to this. The two loves of my life — now bonded by the same classical tune — must face off in a devastating Lunchtime Poll. On last night’s Dancing With the Stars, Kirstie Alley and my imaginary boyfriend Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced a (nearly shoeless) waltz to “The Flower Duet,” a.k.a. the glorious song from the Ghirardelli chocolate commercial, as if to remind us that Maks’ booty is the “most intense, slow-melting, premium chocolate” of all Pro booty. I suddenly wondered: If forced to choose between having a) one dance with my imaginary boyfriend Maks, or b) the reliable pleasure of my real boyfriend, a giant Ghirardelli chocolate bar, what would I do? What would you do? Help me decide, below. READ FULL STORY »

'Facts of Life' TV Land Awards reunion: Preview Charlotte Rae's faux pas

Filed under: Television, TV and tagged: ,

You don’t have to wait until Sunday to catch a glimpse of the Facts of Life cast reunion at the TV Land Awards (airing April 17, at 9 p.m. ET). Good Morning America caught up with the ladies backstage at last weekend’s taping, and amidst Cynthia McFadden’s sitdown chat, we see footage of them accepting their Pop Culture Award — and of 84-year-old Charlotte Rae, aka Mrs. Garrett, giving the evening’s other honorees some material to work with in their speeches. “I’m so proud of my girls,” Rae says. “They all turned out to be straight. Straight!” (Of course, she meant that they all grew up well.)

The new 'Law & Order: LA': What's your verdict?

Alfred-Molina

In the city of Los Angeles, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important versions of Alfred Molina. Well, sort of. In the revamped Law & Order: LA that debuted last night, Molina’s character, Ricardo Morales, made a decision that would have been shocking if it hadn’t been so widely reported beforehand: Disgusted by the bureaucracy of the District Attorney’s office, he quit working as a lawyer to become a detective. That wasn’t the only development that rocked Los Angeles’s homicide division — Corey Stoll also shaved off his mustache. And, oh yeah — SPOILER ALERT: READ FULL STORY »

Shirley MacLaine gives thumbs down to sexcapades on 'Oprah': Watch!

On Monday’s Oprah Winfrey Show, Shirley MacLaine, promoting her new book I’m Over All That and Other Confessions, entertained the audience with stories of her love life. “Well, I’ve had an awful lot of lovers,” she said, turning to the amused crowd, which applauded her candor. “They approve,” MacLaine said, before joking, “and a lot of awful lovers,” too. She would later make the point that she was always a serial monogamist who prepared genuine love affairs — and that when one gets older and interested in the spiritual dimension of things, sex takes on a different meaning and importance — but she had some fun getting there. “Yeah, I wasn’t into sexcapades, although I tried it once,” she said laughing. “I had three people in one day.” Watch the clip here. Michael Shannon talks General Zod audition

Filed under: Movies and tagged: , ,

There was a General Zod sighting in North Carolina last night. Michael Shannon, the Oscar-nominated actor (Revolutionary Road) who’s been cast as Superman’s nemesis in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel reboot, was honored with an Emerging Master Award at the RiverRun International Film Festival in Winston-Salem. He shared his surreal first encounter with Snyder and described his audition where Snyder had to ask Shannon to play Zod a little more friendly towards Henry Cavill’s hero. Take a look.
