If the preview of The Voice last night had been a first date, there’d probably be a second. Read the full post.

I like how it says “the four most influential people in music.” Ummm….I beg to differ Mr. Daly. Maybe of the last year or so, but not the most influential ever. Am I the only one who has never heard of Blake Shelton?

    • Melody

Probably. Blake Shelton is amazing. Really fantastic singer and musician. Youtube “Home.”

Maybe they should have reworded it, “the most influential people of the past 10 to 15 years in music” since those 4 singers came during that period. That’s not fair to the artists that came before them. Some people use that “best ever” tagline too much on current singers these days, even in a Facebook/Twitter era and that’s not fair to people who’ve been doing it for a long time.

Obviously you all are paid to say good things. This is the most boring crap and so 10 years ago. And duh of course he goes with the country singer. Was there any doubt? SNOOZE.

Go back to watching wrestling, dummy.

    I’m in…can’t wait!

Fans of glee should record the most likely crappy gaga and watch this instead. It’s first 12 minutes were more fun then the entire 2 hour idol premiere.

I’m looking forward to this show. When I first heard about this show I thought it would be cheap version of X Factor but now I think it going to be better than X factor.

But there’s too much overlap between Voice’s two-hour show competing against Dancing with the Stars’ one-hour results show in the 9 pm slot. I think the blind judging concept on Voice is a swipe at Idol’s constant bickering from the judges of the singers when they can’t decide if they want them to advance or talk about what they’re wearing. At least they’re not wading through 100,000 auditioners like Idol does every year.

The 12-minute preview of The Voice was quite good. Entirely different from rival show American Idol. I like that they’re going more for their voices than the other shows do. I don’t know why they’re putting this on in a time when Idol is having one of its best seasons with the talent. I think they put it on a week when Idol might not have their best theme weeks; some of them don’t pull in as many viewers when there are 4, 5, 6 or 7 people left in the competition. But I wish this show well.

Watched the 12 minute preview expecting to hate it. Came away from it completely impressed. So much so that I took Glee off my DVR schedule this week. I’ll catch that on Hulu later. Please don’t ruin this show by allowing little girls to vote repeatedly. It’s bad enough Idol has degraded their entire show by allowing 5 percent of their viewers cast 90 percent of the votes.

Totally uninterested until I watched the preview, which made it seem like a lot of fun.

I like that this has the possibility of watching the singers grow a lot. I always liked that about “So You Think You Can Dance” (even more so than American Idol) and I think we’ll see that here.
