By now, you may have seen the video of Glee‘s Heather Morris (Brittany) showing whether one can dance to a handful of Esquire‘s picks for the 50 songs the magazine thinks every man should be listening to. (So the answer for The Kills’ “Blood Pressures” is no?) Watch it below. Clearly Morris, who’s been dancing for 23 of her 24 years, is talented (look at those stilettos!) and smokin’ (look again at those stilettos!). But watching it, I started thinking how it’s so much easier for women to know what moves men will find sexy on the dance floor than it is for men to know what women want to see. Let’s imagine Matthew Morrison did a similar video for Cosmo to promote his upcoming solo album: What should that look like? Let’s give men some tips they can really use! Morris tells Esquire she finds men pop-and-locking, ticking, and moonwalking hot. Go.

Heather Morris is a world-class professional dancer with abs most people would kill for. She’s not starving herself, she’s at the peak of fitness.
Yeah, if you’re a professional dancer chances are your body looks like that. She’s just very fit.
You know, there are plenty of girls in Hollywood (and on Glee *cough*Lea Michele*cough*) who need to eat a sandwich or ten, but Heather isn’t one of them. She has powerful body with incredible muscle tone and a phenomenal @ss. Girl’s about as close to physical perfection as you can get.

There’s no question she is immensely talented, but she’s not doing anything here that you wouldn’t see at your local strip club. Twenty-three years of dance training isn’t really necessary to get men off.
Amen to that. If she’s really a “world class professional dancer” (and the term “world class” gets painfully overused), this video really doesn’t show that off.
I adore her comedic instincts on GLEE, and she does have an amazing body, but I have to concur. If she has had 23 years of experience, this video certainly does not attest to it. All I saw were gyrating hips, come-hither poses, hopping, swaying and shimmying that any teenage girl with a phonecamera and an mp3 player does every weekend in her bedroom.
Also…why does ever friggin’ female star nowadays has to do some sort of posing or shoot or video in skimpy clothes? Not that I mind, but…is that the only way for actresses to keep themselves relevant? By perpetuating the “women are sex objects” notions that are so prevalent in our culture?
I feel the same way. This vid doesn’t really show off her (very impressive!!!) skills. It mostly just shows off her hair. It’s hairography.
That was exactly my thought. There’s not a lot of dancing goin on here. Just a lot of posing and grinding.

I actually am kind of skeeved out by Matthew Morrison. Not at all sexy. I think Harry Shum Jr. is way more fun to watch. But econruth, I agree – Maks from DWTS is the ultimate. He is totally not my type but I have the biggest crush on him!

I was thinking the opposite, actually. They edited together all of the sexy gyrating and left out all of the real dancing. Because I’ve seen Heather dance, and she’s better than this.
I teach Zumba to middle school PE classes, and I always start by telling the boys that girls like boys who try to dance–it doesn’t really matter if they *can* dance, we just love to see someone manly enough to try. It works every time.
