Where is ousted Idol contestant Pia Toscano’s broken heart set to go? Why, as we learned last night, right over to ABC’s studios to perform for next Tuesday’s Dancing With the Stars. Idol rejection doesn’t look so bad on the girl, huh? So, now, the key question is: What should the former Idol contestant sing?
It’s safe to assume that the singer will do what she does best: perform a ballad. (And any of the following would impress on the ABC show: “I’ll Stand By You,” “All By Myself,” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” and “All in Love is Fair.” But please, no more “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.” Reality TV has had enough of the song! UPDATE: Though, seeing as next week is Guilty Pleasures week, perhaps the Elton John song is a good fit.) But seeing as Mark Ballas and Karina Smirnoff will be performing to whatever song she does execute on the DWTS stage, I’m more inclined to hope for an uptempo tune. Not only is it more fun to watch professionals execute numbers that require quick feet and attitude, but we can focus on Pia’s vocals and the dancing — a distraction that allows us to ignore her not-yet-refined performance skills.

Mark Ballas is so sweet on DWTS. I don’t see him as vain at all.
“sweet” must be another way to say “attention-starved”
I don’t really hold it against him, but he does come across as REALLY desperate on DWTS. It can be kind of painful to watch him try to cultivate a cool-guy persona when there’s something about him that is just kind of dorky. It’s like if Ross Gellar was a professional dancer, and he tried to convince everyone he had the sex appeal of Paulo. (I’m only slightly embarrassed for making that iffy analogy.)

I think it would be truly touching if Pia did Love Theme from Brokeback Mountain for her ‘boyfriend’ Mark. Do they double-date with Ryan & Julianna?!? This is getting RIDICULOUS! Didn’t they stop doing this kind of “pretend” hetero romance stuff a few decades ago or is the Rock Hudson era getting a do-over??

Interesting how some people think someone is gay just by what they do. It seems more than that tho as there are some who want to think that anyone they think has more than they do in talent, in money or being known to the public is to say they are gay. Once again says more about the person saying it than the person they are saying it against. What is the real problem.
I believe Mark has said she’s she’s singing something “Slow”, so it’s likely going to ballad of the slow variety. He will be dancing with Karina to Pia’s song.
Is there a song about trying to sleep your way to the top by dating someone with more name recognition than you? Becuase maybe she should sing that.

I think Mark said she’s singing a slow song which makes sense due to NKOTBSB being on the show as well. Whatever song she sings she’ll kill.
I know. That’s why I can never listen to any song she ever performed on AI ever again. She killed the song for me because she robbed them of any emotion whatsoever.
She can’t sing uptempo, that’s why she was voted off AI.

Pia would be smart to SLOW DOWN. I can’t remember any IDOL get this much attention right after they got kicked off. She is blazing thru her 15 minutes way too fast. Another 2 weeks of her media frenzy and any fans that are left will be over her.
I also heard that she is talking about doing a fragrance line. WTH? Too much too soon. I guess she wants to get all she can out of her 15 minutes.
I’d be happy with either a ballad or an up tempo song, as I believe Pia has shown that she can sing either extremely well. I’m really glad that she’s getting the opportunity to perform on national television again, and I hope she gains new fans out of those who watch DWTS but haven’t seen her on Idol.
With her voice she can sing anything. The moves will improve with a little more experience. Winning AI does not mean they are the best vocals if you remember the last 2 years. Chris was good but Adam was much better.
