I love Muse, and that sounded great at first. But that screaming ruined the whole thing.
yeah, i love the song, and I love where Durbin was going, but it was just too much. I didn’t mind the screaming, but then there was a lot of screaming and then even more screaming.
I loved it!!! It was completely on pitch and he went back and forth between octaves and head/chest voice without breaking. That is beyond hard.. He made it his own. Great song, great interpretation. Go James!!!!
With all due respect, Javabooknut, you have no clue about pitch. He was totally flat in the low parts and only got back on tune when he sang full out. Why don’t the judges ever talk about his inability to hold the pitch when he’s not at full volume?

I had the same concern but she slayed it. I was a little afraid of her doing something still so fresh. I was screaming.
Yeah, risky move, lots of have tried this sort of thing and gone down in flames, but damn she pulled it off in spades.
That was my original thought but she proved me wrong. This was the first performance I liked by her. Before tonight I just wanted her to go home. She finally proved to me that she belongs here. Though she still isn’t my favorite. For me it’s all about Casey
