Sorry Randy! Guess I just didn’t have enough room in my headline. Good on you. Good on you. Now that we’ve debated which songs the Top 7 should sing for ‘Songs from the 21st Century’ Night, it’s time to watch our young contenders fling themselves at the feet of the three Fates… and then gossip about ‘em! We can also dream that the judges will actually judge this week, but let’s not get ridiculous.

That would be a nice song for her. Her performance tonight was very special. Glad she picked Adele. She just taught the old girls how it’s done–take risks and be SPECIAL!
Haley was awesome! Wish the judges would recognize it more.
WHAT is with these judges??? Haley was fantastic (very few singers, professionals included, could do an Adele cover so well, and her voice sounded amazing!) and yet they were damning her with faint praise, while the rest of the group got pats on the back…what the freeholays??? Why do they not want this talented girl to win???
Scotty was the one they were very harsh to. They exaggerated when talking to him. He was better than a couple of the others and they were being unfair to him. Ask any music worker and they will tell you that the judges were unfair to Scotty.
They didn’t criticize his singing. They said he was playing it safe, and being boring…which is true. He didn’t even really take a risk singing a girl’s song tonight because it was originally by some guy in the 80s. Don’t get me wrong. I think he’s the strongest, most consistent left but that puts him in danger of being turned on.
That ‘some guy’ was John Anderson..
Just finishing the show now with Casey singing Maroon 5. Haley IMO was the best of the night with Adele. That was friggin sex.
HALEY WAS AMAZING!!! A bold song choice. I was nervous for her. But she nailed it. Her voice is so interesting. And she sang with a seriousness she doesn’t always bring. WOW! WOW! WOW!
I just don’t hear that Haley has what it takes. She needs to go.

Haley was OK, but she kept running out of breath, which kind of bothered me. Better than she has been, tho.
I’m voting for Haley too— the only problem I had with her is that she treated “Rolling in the Deep” like a happy song. It’s not.
GO back and re-watch it,.. she came to tears a couple of times singing it.. not sung happy at all..
Yeah, Haley’s great, but she always has a stupid grin on her face. She needs to act serious during a serious song. Instead, it’s like she’s channeling a “Look at what I can do!” vibe. I still like her and think she is the best vocalist left, I just think she mishandles herself and needs to take control of it.
That would be amazing. I like NB’s voice on it.
HALEY IS INCREDIBLE. Her voice is amazing, so raw. I was soooo pissed off with the mild praise the judges gave her. What the hell does she have to do to get what she deserves. This woman is talented…and so far from boring. And she oozes coolness. Her only issue is she lacks the fake quality that keeps Lauren safe from the bottom three. Oh America, why are you always so wrong?

I couldn’t stop laughing during that first number. Between Paul forgetting the lyrics, Naima’s dancing, and the judges pleading them to come back and stay, there was just too much to laugh at.

What a mess. I don’t miss them at all. Naima was over the top and everyone was off key. Even Pia sounded awful. They just butchered one of my favorite Pink songs.

Not really, penny. I wouldn’t call myself a country music fan, but I certainly don’t hate the genre. As far as country AI contestants, I liked Carrie Underwood. And Lauren this season is alright. I just don’t like Scotty at all. Thanks for your assumptions though.

No one from this season will be a worse winner than Lee Dewyze.
Actually Country music is different than what Lee does.
Scotty will probably sell more than Lee every did. Country is more popular and many Country fans like Scotty and Lauren…that is why he is still in the competition.

Could he at least TRY something other than country twang?? (And, no, I don’t hate country music – it just bothers me that for 10 years they’ve ragged on many contestants about mixing it up and not always going the safe route yet that’s all he ever does. Every week. And they praise him for it. He doesn’t do a thing for me – his singing, his stage presence, his predictability.
