I will admit I love my viewing options on TimeWarner, but I hate the fact I have no other options. It’s them, or two dish networks and sicne I’m in an apartment building, I have one choice of television. They’re customer service is pretty terrible, and I’ve been through 4 DVR/HD boxes ina year.
I am happily divorced from Comcast and with Verizon. There were so many issues I had Comcast (incorrect bills, rude employees, lying salespeople, interrupted service, told that their equipment malfunctions were my fault and I would have to pay, or the best one was that it wasn’t their service that was the problem and I would need a new TV in EVERY room in my house), that I just had enough and when Verizon Fios finally came to my area, I jumped on the chance to join with them. Comcast still sends sales people to my house to ask if I would be willing to switch back over to their company because “things are better now”.
I tell them all of the issues I had and would rather pay a little bit more just to be happy with the company I am currently with.
I hate my cable company (TWC) and I’m hoping that I’m either moving out of state in the next couple of weeks for a new job, or that WOW finally gets installed down my street so I can make the switch.
On the day I was moving (all of 300 yds to a new place) I called TWC to find out where the installers were and while the CS person “looked” she started asking me if I was interested in this package or that feature. “Look, I’m currently holding my phone in between my ear and shoulder while trying to carry a dresser inside a doorway.” “Oh, well we’ve got…” honest to Pete!
Wow this happened to me too! Took a day off work and they didn’t show up I was getting gittery not being able to watch my favorite shows this was before most shows were avaliable for streaming. The cable company eventually came out like at 10pm. They couldn’t install the cable cards on my TiVo and wanted to charge me for another vist, they didn’t after I complained and streamed. That was Comcast, wanted to switch to FIOS but they charged us $250 for a visit to disconnect the phone. I am stuck in an abusive relationship, can wait until I can buy the shows I want to see it maybe cheaper than paying $150 a month with triple pay.
We switched from Comcast to ATT U-verse. We love it, and it’s cheaper than Comcast. I HATED COMCAST. Cable companies have virtual monopolies in their areas so they don’t feel like they have to be good to the customer. They all suck, but so far U-verse has been really great for us.
Here in Salt Lake City, I live close enough to the Comcast office to pay my bill without mailing it. Usually, I just drop the payment into their lockbox. One day, however, I was off during the day and stopped by. I went inside to pay it. After waiting in line, I got to the window and was told
quote “If you pay through the window there is a $5.00 handling charge.”
Continuation of the story. I asked someone who was pretending to be a supervisor “What kind of customer service is that?”
“That’s just our policy.”
We broke up with our cable company (Comcast) a few months back and it’s been great. We got a Boxee and can watch Netflix all we want and log on to internet to watch local news, etc. They don’t have Hulu or Amazon yet, but both are coming soon. Seriously, cable’s headed for the graveyard IMO. Their customer service is terrible and their consumer policies are corrupt.
Oh my goodness yes! The indignities are never-ending.
Moving from Venice to Santa Monica? Well, Santa Monica has FIOS!!! I’m moving from WLA to Santa Monica next week, and I cannot wait for my FIOS! Dump Time Warner!
