Honestly, this picture should just be Lindsay Lohan’s audition tape for Gotti: Three Generations. After all, there’s a lot riding on the actress nabbing the role of Victoria Gotti in the film, starring John Travolta as John Gotti, Sr.: It could just be Lohan’s first post-rehab (and, let’s face it, post-2006) success. (As mentioned at Tuesday’s press conference for the film, Lohan is currently in talks for the role.)
While it’s hard imagining Lohan as Deep Throat‘s Linda Lovelace (a role she lost) or the late Valley of the Dolls actress Sharon Tate (a role that she’s in talks for), Victoria Gotti actually seems like a good fit for Lohan. They both have lived very well-documented, difficult lives. They both have a father who has battled the law. They both have connections to reality shows with uncreative titles (Lohan: Living Lohan, and Gotti: Growing Up Gotti). And, as you can see here, they look eerily similar. (Or, at least, their weaves do.)
Sure, the film may battle credibility criticisms should the producers cast the actress, what with critics and Internet commenters eagerly awaiting a chance to insult anything attached to Lohan (including her clothes). But I say give her a chance: There has to be a reason Gotti herself has handpicked Lohan for the role.

As soon as someone makes bad decisions or goes through tough times people seem to immediately claim they never had any talent. Lindsay Lohan IS a good actress who has made some horrific decisions in her life.
I agree. At some point (once she is actually sober and healthy), I would definitely like to see her resurrect her acting career.

That’s not fair, Levi. She is such a talented actress – watch Freaky Friday & Mean Girls, which came out 10 years ago. The dozen other straight-to-DVD movies she’s done since were just bad decisions.
Georgia Rules was a good movie, and she was good in it. Definitely a chick flick, moderately melodramatic in plot and subject matter, but good just the same. I would not lump it in with I Know Who Killed Me or Just My Luck. The kid is talented. I hope she grows up and gets it together.
Yes, Jessica is right about Georgia Rules. It is the best chick flick about incest & rape. Hilarious!!! That Lohan is sooo talented!!!
I think LILO is a relatively talented actress as Drew’s just pointed out. But I also think that her performances in both Georgia Rules, and I Know Who Killed Me, are below her own par. I’ve never seen Just My Luck.

@Kate Ward, Thanks for the up. I don’t think it’s fair to compare GOTTI, SR. and LILO’s father over the legal issues – if you know what I mean. And LILO is still relatively young no matter how people are dissin’ her about her looking older than she really is. I’m glad she is in talks; but based on the featured thumbnail on which my comment is based : ), we are seriously in want of a damdimdam GOOD makeup artist, to begin with.

well, if the film doesn’t have good enough material to attract an actress better than Lindsay Lohan, at least we know it’s one less film we have to watch.

Why would ANYONE consider this bi*** for ANYTHING. So she did a good job in a movie. She is not an amazing actor. She’s alright, but nothing to write home about.

Given she’s still battling the legal system. I am surprised they are taking a chance on her and I am surprised they would be able to insure her to work on the project. Giver her addict issues, and outstanding legal issues. Yes she is doing it probably because she needs the money. But I just don’t have a good feeling about this. She should have laid low for awhile and then come back to work… Throwing her back into work is asking for issues…
