Warning: If last night’s Nikita is still sitting on your DVR, you missed out. Oops. I mean, don’t read on. The rest of this article contains spoilers from last night.

Last night’s episode of Nikita, the show’s first new installment after a lengthy break, was first and foremost satisfying in many ways other than the much-anticipated kiss (screencapped for your pleasure to the left). Most notably, Michael finally turned against Percy (as we all wished he eventually would) after learning that his arch nemesis Kasim murdered his family because Percy ordered him. SHOCK!
What I loved was that the added twist — and the fantastic flashback scenes — made the kiss in the episode’s final moments all that more meaningful. The episode provided perfect context for the buildup of emotions that would lead to their steamy connection. On that note, I consider myself a bit of an expert in steamy television connections, and I have to say, that’s probably one of the best I’ve seen — from the Florence and the Machine playing in the background to the dialogue.
Michael: If I had listened to you five years ago, things would be different.
Nikita: Things will be different.
I also loved the fact that Nikita turned away from him before the kiss. It was as if she was making her last attempt to distance herself from their innate attraction, and I love, love, love, that it was Michael who broke the barrier. Even better was the fact that it wasn’t a kiss and run. They clearly had no plans on stopping — bravo.
Last night’s Nikita was the big payoff episode — the episode fans had been waiting for since hopping aboard in September. And while some shows would have saved a Mikita moment as buzzworthy as last night’s until the finale, I take the show’s decision to advance this relationship as a sign of amazing things to come. I mean, if they give us a kiss like that with four more episodes to go, can you imagine what they have up their sleeve for the finale?
What did you think of the episode, PopWatchers? And was that kiss one of the best you’ve seen? Where does it rank on your list of best highly anticipated kisses?

SO glad I found this show.. I watched it because Devon Sawa guest starred and now I’m so glad I did- it’s definitely one of my favorites! Michael and Nikita have SO much chemistry! I miss Thom though..
i completely agree with u
also.. first!
I agree, fantastic kiss. Anytime two characters on a show I like have a “moment” like that, I always yell out, “Kiss her!” (Yes, out loud, in the privacy of my living room.) And last night, it actually worked!
I literally died when he started saying how things would be different….I must have watched that scene 10x after the episode aired. Each time I saw it, I was amazed at how perfect everything was. From her sensing he was behind her, her attempt to distance herself, them pausing to look into each others eyes after the initial kiss, to the the up against the wall makeout sess…..it was GREAT. Like I said…I died
Kathryn, I agree with you. What a great romantic scene. *sigh*
Romance issues aside, I love that the writers of the show are constantly moving the plot forward. I don’t think they’ve had a “throw-away” episode yet, and probably at least a third of the episodes have had major shake-ups, while still staying true to the original premise and feel of the show. As a viewer, I really appreciate that!
THIS EPISODE WAS HOT!!!!!! I LOVED IT…EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Also to sidestep a little, wats going on with Alex n Nathan? Wasnt she supposed to break up with him? Wats going on with that?
But anywhos back to the main topic….when that kiss happened, i was like YES!!!!!!!
Just watched the old Nikita episodes on Netflix. No matter how steamy, Maggie just can’t carry off the vulnerability that Peta could. Still waiting to love it as much as the original tv series.
I completely agree. And the chemistry between her and Roy Dupuis was crazy intense.
Then don’t watch. Seriously, I could understand this kind of bull in September but honestly, if you don’t like it by now you wont so why keep watching? If you like it, watch, if you don’t, don’t but don’t spend 6 months going on about how the originl was better. The point has been made.
I have watched every version of Nikita, inluding the American film with Bridg Fonda. To me the original was film noir at its most interesting, but the best was clearly the original tv version with Roy and Peta…I will always be a fan. However, that being said, I am enjoying this version and found last night’s to be the best yet. This version doesn’t have the darkness and intrigue of the first tv, but it is good entertainment..and I am definitely feeling the chemistry between the two stars.
I’m so happy I have DVR I’ll be watching Nikita again tonight along with Vampire Diaries. Great night of tv last night! Great scene and kiss!
Kevin, you’re totally right. Has anyone heard if it is renewed for next season? I wish more people were watching it!
No news on a renewal yet, but they are optimistic. Which is a travesty since Nikita is WAY better than most people realize. Here’s hoping the CW sees what a gem they have on their hands
Amazing episode! I agree when you say that the rest of the episode (flashbacks included) made the final scene more meaningful!! And can’t forget the outstanding perfomances by Shane and Maggie!
I became in sudden fear of Michael’s life. They are going to deal next week with the obvious danger, Owen, the most volatile of Nikita’s allies. But, I am not sure that Michael can play the game within Division that he appears ready to play – especially now if and when Alex is next in danger within Division. And, Ryan (that is the CIA guy’s name, right?) he always strikes me as potentially dangerous and also, that was a really sweet and tender kiss between him and Nikita.
The whole episode was brilliant. Maggie and Shane were phenomenal. Their chemistry is OFF THE HOOK. CW YOU BETTER RENEW THIS SHOW!!
Everything about that episode blew me away. I absolutely cannot wait to see what is in store for the rest of the season…and next season (fingers crossed)
I LOVE this episode, all the twist and turns and the much anticipated kiss was well worth the wait!!! I’m so glad the writers didn’t drag this relationship out like some other tv shows.
