The opening number was perhaps the worst one ever.
I love Constantine and am very proud of his accomplishments but that was not good. On the other hand he is still good looking and his baby is adorable.
Pia in the bottom 3? I don’t like Pia..she is just a voice no stage presence or personality but she still has the best voice of this season. It was probably Paul who should be in the bottom 3 but they are trying to soften the blow when Jacob goes home.
There’s no BS needed to have Pia in the bottom 3. Like with Casey, her fans probably figured she was easily safe and didn’t vote. Paul’s fans came together after last week’s result and came out for the Hoarse Whisperer in droves.

Yeah… he probably made more money than the remaining contestants, my a$$. He can’t carry a tune, and is the wekaest, hoarsest singer I’ve heard since Rod Stewart. I’ve was as shocked that he was in the top 24 and i was that Jacob didn’t get the book tonight.
Yes Paul singing is not really good. Its whispering notes, i cant understand the lyrics, he mumbles them.

The judges are totally disconnected from reality. They think these people are the greatest undiscovered singers in the world and never warrant any criticism EVER.
As a Haley fan, I was offended by Randy’s reaction. Why was it such an outrage that Jacob landed in the bottom three? He easily deserved to be there. Haley did not. Simple!
Randy’s reaction was ridiculous. Mouth wide open and shaking his head. I think Randy should be in the bottom 3 and headed home.

I agree. They have tried to push Jacob on America and he is just not good – they have his head so inflated that they have all lost touch with reality.
He will be history soon. Would you even consider listening to him sing if he wasn’t one of the contestants. I wouldn’t. But then again I was blown away that Crystal did not win.

Jennifer Hudson was good, but not as polished as she later became. She was inconsistant. She should have gone farther, but it wasn’t surprising that she lost. It was surprising that LaToya lost that year.
I also thought Latoya should have won that year.
Thanks peggym…Jennifer always had a tremendous, powerful voice, but people forget that during that season she was third-rate to the judges’ favorites Latoya and Fantasia…but regardless, Hudson’s departure was shocking, considering that at that moment in the competition she was starting to gain momentum due to several outstanding performances (aka Circle of Life and Weekend in New England)
Jennifer was also a ‘wildcard’ choice. Randy picked her. America didn’t put her in. Simon had said she’d never amount to anything.
JHud had a bad attitude and she was inconsistent, particularly when judging against LaToya and Fantasia. There is no comparison here – Pia was pretty dull and robotic despite her other large plusses. And really, her style of music is also really out right now, particularly with the critical white teen female demo.
Pia is an unbelievable singer, but she is almost too composed. She often reminds me of a beauty pageant contestant when she’s singing (ok, a very talented one, but still). We haven’t seen her personality at all… evrything she does seems rehearsed and sanitized. I mean, woman sang a Tina Turner song last night and just calmly walked around the stage…Tina Turner was (and still is) a wild woman onstage and an incredible dancer and performer, so the comparison was not good for Pia. Pia desperately needs to let loose, entertain and perform more, and just let her personality show.
Agreed. Technically, she is probably the best female. Better than Lauren who is my favorite, but still too stiff. She needs to loosen up. I feel like she’s too composed. You feel the nerves in Lauren, but you don’t feel the genuine-ness in Pia. I love her, and she’s probably safe. She definately shouldn’t be in the bottom 3.
Yeah, she is like a beautiful android. I agree, with her lack of stage presence she should have not done Tina who is about the best performer there is.
People called Carrie Underwood robotic when she was on the show. She isn’t that way anymore. Success breeds confidence.
In a word, she’s boring. But, the girl has pipes! Stage presence can be worked with.
She’s this season’s Katherine McPhee…stunningly talented, stunningly beautiful. But she doesn’t project any discernible emotion therefore it doesn’t inspire fingers to passionately, rabidly dial for her, over and over. Another woman bites the dust. Only way to save AI from being a sausage fest year after year: have two Idols – one man and one woman.

As a guy I have a life and don’t spend hours power voting. But when I DO vote, my faves have split between guys and gals pretty equally.
Agreed, but American Idol should be about finding a star in the making, not someone who comes 100% ready to be a star. I wish we got to see Pia work on becoming a better performer while on the show.

It’s a singing competition. She’s not Tina Turner! The bottom line is the fan’s get everything wrong when they vote. They vote for there favorites, not the best. That’s why every year we have to look at proffessional sports All-Star games with 45 year old players who haven’t played a game yet. Constantly fan voting activities suffer from fans voting inconsistently. That’s why fans should be taken out of the mix. Stay fans and let the experts choose the winner. Simon Cowell is high fiving everyone around him because X-factor probably made a ton of money tonight.
I son’t think there is anymore dramatic way of letting you know High Priest Jusge Simon Himself was not grounded in reality when he proclaimed it was by him, officially a singing contest than what happened to Pia.
jt1234, make it a statement of certainty by you, but it is not a singing competition. It is American Idol, not “Americas best young technical vocalist”.
And fans don’t get it “wrong” and only Great God Simon was right.
Fans vote for who they like as an entertainer, not best technical vocalist. So they really cannot “get it wrong”.
You can question their taste in entertainers, but they don’t get it wrong and if expert vocal assessors from schools of music (not the Simons and Paulas, BTW) were in charge and not the unwashed masses..they would select some god-awful entertainers singing in music genres few want to buy or listen two.
BIg Mike last season was god-awful to listen to, I hated his genre, his effeminate falsetto…but he, not Bowersox, was the most consistent vocalist last Season.
X Factor is going to be awesome bring on Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell, and L.A Reid; judges that actually critique!! AI just lost a viewer tonight.
