In a move that might mark a decisive step forward in the evolution of online music, Amazon launched two new services today: the Amazon Cloud Drive and the Amazon Cloud Player. The Cloud Drive allows consumers to store music, and any other digital items, on Amazon’s data centers. Amazon is currently offering 5 GB free, although there is an extra 20 GB available for free with a purchase of an MP3 album from Amazon’s music service. And there’s the rub: Far from just visualizing the Amazon cloud as a data storage center, the website’s new Cloud Player allows you to play music directly through Amazon… unlike Apple’s iTunes service, which still requires users to store their music library on their own disk space. Katie Couric: When is she at her best?
I always thought Katie Couric was a fun morning personality. At least, that’s what I recall — the world is always fuzzy before 11:00 a.m.
So news of her possible exit from CBS Evening News when her contract is up in June made me a little excited. After all, part of me always hoped she’d return to her home at the morning desk — a pipe dream, I know. And now, that seems even less likely to happen. The NY Post reports that Couric is being offered a daytime talk show and a “regular spot”on 60 Minutes — although, EW has heard the offer is being overstated. Still, one can’t help wonder where Couric should call home. Or, rather, where she’s at her best.
So, PopWatchers, let’s do what we do best and give an unsolicited opinion. When do you think Couric shines most? Vote in the poll after the jump! READ FULL STORY »
Lady Gaga turns 25. What would you give her for her birthday?

Attention friends, monsters, and embryos: Today, on March 28, 2011, Lady Gaga turns 25 years old. First, pause for a second to beat your head against your desks because, why, why am I so old, so poor, and will never be able to pull off the frozen-section-at-Food Emporium look? But back to Gaga. (And ouch, my head!) Since this is Gaga we’re talking about, I’m imagining her birthday consists of a relaxing bath filled with streamers, glitter, and plush animals followed by a screening of 1974′s Zardoz and a massage from Perez Hilton. But maybe that’s just the concussion I suffered a few sentences ago talking. No, she’s probably Just Like Us, sobbing over cake while watching Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and sipping Four Loko. (Just me?) Birthdays are fun!
But her birthday party needs gifts, PopWatchers! So what would you give Lady Gaga for her birthday? READ FULL STORY »
'Dancing With the Stars': Should Tom Bergeron ask Chris Brown about the 'GMA' incident?

Tuesday’s episode of Dancing With the Stars just got a little more interesting. Earlier today, Tom Bergeron stopped by Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show to chat about the new season of his reality show. Partway through the interview, Seacrest mentioned that Chris Brown is scheduled to perform on tomorrow evening’s Dancing results show — exactly a week after his well-publicized freakout on the set of fellow ABC program Good Morning America. He then asked Bergeron if he’s planning to mention the meltdown when he speaks to Brown on air.
Bergeron’s answer makes it sound like he might go either way. “Well, here’s the thing,” he began. “I did say to the producers that it might be to their advantage to not have me interview him, because my natural tendency would be to say something. So don’t put me in a position where you’re asking me not to say something, because I won’t really do that.” READ FULL STORY »

Randy and Evi Quaid to premiere 'Star Whackers' docudrama in Vancouver

When it comes to the long, complicated, illegal saga of Randy and Evi Quaid, is the joke on us, or is the joke on them? Honestly, it’s hard to tell anymore. But with today’s most recent piece of Quaid news, I’m thinking it might be the former: According to the website for the Rio Theatre in Vancouver, the Canadian city where the couple has been hiding out in an attempt to escape their felony vandalism charge in the states, Evi Quaid will premiere her unfinished docudrama, Star Whackers, April 22 at the venue, followed by a Q&A session with both Randy and Evi. Some background for those of you who went off the grid last fall: The actor and his wife had been accused of illegally squatting in a Santa Barbara, Calif., home they once owned; The couple said they were being framed by “star whackers,” a group of conspirators out to steal celebrities’ fortunes or kill them. (According to Randy during an interview with Good Morning America, both David Carradine and Heath Ledger were victims of the “star whackers.”)
First of all, let’s get this out of the way: The story would make for an awesome movie. READ FULL STORY »
